"So, like this!?" Mabel asks.
"Yes, hold your hands there, suspended, like you're holding an invisible ball. Then say the spell!" Gray says.
"Got it! I've got this!" Mabel says. "Yzoo lu wzip vmvitb!"
A small ball of dark energy appears in between her hands.
"There we go! Now don't let it go, focus on growing it," Gray encourages.
"Kay...I get a sundae after this, right?" Mabel smiles.
She widens the gap between her two hands, and the ball of darkness grows. It grows bigger and bigger, until it's almost as big as Mabel herself.
"Okay, that's good enough!" Gray shouts. "Now clap both of your hands together, quickly!"
Mabel struggles, but eventually she does, and when she does, the ball disappears.
"Woo-hoo!" Mabel says, high-fiving Gray.
"Sundae, here we come!" Gray laughs. "That was amazing, Mabel!"
"Oh, stop it!" Mabel laughs. "Now where's your fridge?"
"We could walk down 10 dark hallways...or we could transport!" Gray laughs. "Do you want to do the honors?"
"Sure!" Mabel says.
She says the transport spell, and they arrive in their kitchen.
"Sweet!" Mabel says. "Although, this kitchen is kinda creepy and dark,"
"Here," Gray says. "Ortsg, gfim lm!"
Suddenly, light fills the place, and things brighten up a bit.
"Right, you can do dark and light magic! I guess that makes sense since you are the Gray Mage," Mabel nods. "What would happen if I tried to do that spell?"
"Oh, simply nothing would happen," Gray says. "If you don't have the power inside of you, the spells don't work,"
"Okay!" Mabel says. "Now...let's gain 100 pounds!"Dipper lies in his bed reading his new magic book.
"Okay, this is kind of amazing!" Dipper says, taking a million notes a minute in his journal. "There's so much information to write in the journal now!"
Dipper takes a break and shakes out his cramping hand.
"But are the spells legit?" Dipper wonders. "I mean, could I really cast another one?"
Dipper shakes his head and closes the book. A few seconds later he can't resist, and opens up to a page with a spell on it.
"Ball of light," he reads aloud. "Interesting,"
He traces his finger over more words.
"Hold your hands 4 inches apart, like you are holding an invisible ball. Then recite the spell," he reads again. He holds his hands 4 inches apart. "Alright, here it goes...yzoo lu ortsg!"
A spark of light appears in between his hands.
"C'mon, c'mon!" Dipper shouts. He widens the gap between his hands as the ball grows. Sweat forms on Dipper's forehead.
When it gets too big to control, he glances at the book for instruction, but the book has blown shut.
"Oh gosh, that's not good! That is not good!" Dipper shouts. "How do I stop it!? I should've read ahead!"
Dipper looks from left to right as the ball grows bigger. Finally, Dipper decides to trust his instincts. He closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, and closes his hands together. It was hard, but he did it. The ball disappears.
"Yes...yes! Haha, I did it!" Dipper laughs. He proudly straightens up and puffs out his chest a little.
"I'm getting the hang of this magic thing," Dipper smiles, crossing his arms. "Just wait till Mabel sees..." He stops himself, remembering he has to keep this a secret from her, to keep her safe. The next day, at 2 o'clock, Mabel walks into his room from the doorway.
"Oh, hey Mabel!" Dipper says, sliding his magic book under his pillow. "How'd the sleepover go? Did she transport you back here or something?"
Mabel is about to reply with, Or something. I transported myself!
But hesitantly, she remembers she needs to keep this a secret from Dipper.
"Yep that's definitely exactly what happened on this very occasion!" she giggles. "Um, anyway how'd things go here!? They obviously went well since you didn't send me one of your paranoid notes!"
Dipper widens his eyes. He got so distracted with his magic, he forgot to check up on her.
"Awe, man...I'm sorry, Mabel, I seriously meant to check up on you!" Dipper says, face palming.
"No, it's good! You're getting over your strange big-brother-like paranoia!" Mabel says, throwing her hands up.
Dipper grins and rolls his eyes.
"Which is weird because--" Mabel starts.
"Don't say it!" Dipper interrupts.
"Because you aren't the older sibling! Haha!" Mabel laughs, poking him.
Dipper's face takes on a grim expression.
"I knew you would bring that up!" he says. "Luckily we've talked about this!"
Mabel laughs again.
"Now, let's get us some lunch, bro-bro!" she says, pushing him out the doorway, towards the stairs.A week passes, and several awkward incidents like the one about to happen here, have happened all week. Dipper and Mabel sit on their beds, doing nothing.
"Soooo, I suddenly have to go to the bathroom for some reason," Dipper says.
"You know what? I will just wait here!" Mabel agrees.
"Great! I...will be back then! Soon!" Dipper says, backing out the doorway.
"Oh, take your time, take your time!" Mabel says, shutting the door behind him.
As soon as Dipper gets in the bathroom, he starts to practice his light spells, and Mabel practices her dark ones in the room.
"I wonder where I'm at with my training...?" Dipper mutters to himself.
"You're getting pretty far!" a voice squeals behind him.
Dipper jumps, and screams.
"Oh...! Oh, it's just you...!" Dipper gasps, looking at White Mage, leaning up against the wall. "You really need to stop doing that!"
"Sorry! Anyway, as I was saying, you're still at beginner level, but you're about to reach level 2!" White Mage claps.
"Really!? Sweet!" Dipper laughs. "How...do I reach level 2? Just keep practicing?"
"Pretty much! There is a level 2 spell that, if you did it correctly, would get you to level 2 almost instantly." White Mage says.
"Really? Where?" Dipper asks.
"Page 14," White Mage nods. "See ya later!"
Dipper flips to page 14.
"Light spears," he reads aloud. "Not quite sure this is good to do in the bathroom,"
Dipper opens the door and peeks out. He tip-toes to the front door.
"Hey, kid! You're not gettin' outta chores that easily!" Stan yells.
"But--! But Grunkle, I..." Dipper stammers, reaching for excuses. "I need a break from this stuffy shack for a sec, to clear my...traumatized mind,"
"Playin' the I'm traumatized from nearly dying card, eh?" Stan huffs, walking over. Dipper looks at the ground and sighs.
Suddenly, Stan hugs him.
Dipper's eyes widen in surprise.
Stan awkwardly stands back up, and rubs the back of his neck, looking from side-to-side.
"Uh, right, sorry," Stan says. "Just...really glad you're back. Now get outta here, and don't get into trouble again!"
Then Stan leaves the room. Dipper smiles, and as he walks out the door, yells, "Thanks, Stan. I missed you too!"(Note: So the twins are keeping secrets from each other! How long can they keep this up!? Only I know! MUAHAHAHA! >:-) Hope you enjoyed it!! <3)
