"Claire I've made something for you, on my first night here" I blushed,
"Mum she painted it" Aidan inputs, I give him a look and he returns it with a smirk.
"Oh great! What is it?" She squeals, rubbing her hands with the tea towel and walking over to me, I smiled and placed it on the dining table, I look over at her, and she looks at me,
"Go on mum," Aidan urges,
Claire smiles and grabs the end of the cloth, pulling it revealing the painting,
"Oh my god Tatiana, this is amazing work. This, this is for me?" She stutters,
"Yeah, but if you don't li-"
"I love it oh my god Tatiana!" She screams jumping up and down, walking over to me and giving me a hug, I hug her back. She takes a step back from me and stares at the painting, in awe. Well I think it was in awe, I smile at her expression, never have I met someone so happy to receive my art, flash!
"Aidan!" I yell covering my face,
"What!" He chuckles trying to position his phone,
"Stop it!" I scream covering the phone camera lens, he just chuckles and jogs up is room,
Claire says her thanks and tells us that dinner was going to be served in half an hour, I nod and jog up the stairs and into my room. My phone rings,
"Hey" I say,
"Hey there!" Cacey yells,
"What's up buddy?" I asked,
"Uh there's some letters for you, do you want me to open them?" She asks,
"Who's it from?"
"Uh Mason" she murmurs,
"No please just chuck them, I don't want to hear what he has to say" I mumble,
"Oh okay, I'll see you then, Gage is picking you up early, he's taking you to the mall to meet us"
"Alright, see you!" I smile and hang up.
I walk and open the door, smashing my head right into Aidan's chest,
"We're you bloody listening to my conversations?" I growled,
"No. Maybe, anyways after dinner you want to?" He asked,
"Uh I need to, I, sure." I mumble
"If you don't want to I-"
"I'm going, I have nothing better to do" I mumble walking down the stairs, greeting Claire and making my way down and slipping into a chair. The table was brightly coloured with the roast and vegetables, bread, and gravy. We all sit down, and start digging in, Aidan seemed to be gobbling down the food, we all ate in silence, because the food obviously was too good, silence was the best way to enjoy it.
After finishing I managed to start up a conversation about the holiday coming up whether they were going to do anything or go on a trip, anything really.
"Oh you should join us at Christmas Eve! We have lots of family coming over and should meet them" Claire suggests smiling,
"Oh not its okay, please enjoy yourself without a stranger like me bombarding into your lives" I laugh,
"Oh no it would be great to have you over, please do come," she smiles,
"I'll see if I have any plans" I nod, putting the last dish in the cupboard, I say thank you and walk up the stairs towards Aidan's room knocking on his door,
"One second" he mumbles, then the door swings open and he's half dressed, but half dressed I mean his clothes were in a nut of a mess, I laugh at the scene and fix up his collar, then his watch he was wearing.
I walk over to my room and get dressed, there was very little talk as we walk into the car, the car ride was peaceful, I was finally able to stick my head out of the window and enjoy the summer breeze, with the night sky forming. The car drive wasn't long, we finally reach a forest, it seemed really pretty. We hop out of the car and I follow closely behind Aidan just in case I end up getting lost, he walks further and further into the forest, I didn't ask anything yet, but then,,
"Stand right here" he says, I nodded standing in the slowly darkening forest, after a while I heard a click, and the tree standing in front of me lights up, the tree was huge, like those really old ones, must've been living for years on end, with a piano beside it, it was rusty and old but it looked beautiful, the bulb lights hung from the high drooping branches of the tree, making a beautiful scenery, with a ladder bit swinging from the side of the tree.
"Looks beautiful right?" He smiles,
"Yeah" I gasped walking towards the piano, "you play?" I asked, he nods and sits down, putting his hands on the keys, he played a melody, much like the songs I play but not so much at the same time, so peaceful, all the bugs and birds seemed to have quietened down when he played, as if they themselves enjoyed the sound of music made my mans most known instrument. He finished playing and I looked over at him,
"What?" He chuckles,
"Nothing it was just. Nice" I smiled looking up at the tree,
"Here follow me" he says grabbing my arm, we walk over to the side where the ladder was, it looked unstable but if he fell first, I'll be safe. He climbed the ladder up on the top branch, there was no more ladder, just one that took you to the first branch, I followed behind watching my steps, the tree was big and amazing, must've seen decades and decades of life drifting within its lifetime, I reach the first branch and Aidan grabs ahold of me pulling me up.
He moves up the tree, this is a bit dangerous, but I followed him anyways. After what seems like an hour of climbing we reach a little wooden plank, big enough to park a car sitting on the highest part of the tree where the branches drooped down, showing the city, the lights and the sunset slowly disappearing into the horizon,
"Shoot Aidan what else have you got under your sleeve" I gasp looking at the view, he chuckles.
"Nothing else, this would be a good scenery to paint" he says, I look at him in shock,
"You think I'm able to paint this?" I say,
"Oh course, you're talented as hell, and it's best if you try paint as much as you can" he smiles,
"Did you make this?" I asked, there was silence, the sky was darkening and the lights beneath us were very dim.
"No my brother did" he stutters, I glance over at him, he has a brother, what?!
"Oh well it's amazing" I smiled looking out at the city, each and every little light flickering signifying a sign of life and the wind blowing ever so gently against my skin, it was such a perfect place, I wanted to as, him about his brother, where he was, how old was he, how did he find this place, was he a piano player as well? But he wasn't the type to be bombarded with questions, he'll just get mad and probably push me off the tree to die.
"You're not going to ask about my brother?" He asks,
"It's not my business to know, unless you want to tell me" I said glancing over at him,
"We'll do you want to know?" He murmured,
"I thought you'd never ask" I said leaning back, placing my hands behind my back, holding my upper body while is sat cross legged,
"Well my brother.."
