Avoidance is Bliss

            Ryder's Pov:

Exposed, it was Ryder felt. He laid his heart bare to Alice and he felt like a weight had been lifted off his chest. I told her how I felt no more running away. It wasn't like Ryder was the one who was always running away.

Alice was the one who, was always running away from everything. This time Ryder wouldn't let her.

"Ryder I-"He didn't want her finishing her sentence because he was done with her excuses. Instead he moved his hand from her mouth and places his mouth on hers.

Kissing Alice made Ryder feel complete. Like there was a piece of him missing he didn't even know that Alice completed. Opening her mouth, Alice let Ryder's tongue in granting him access. He only hoped she would grant him access to her heart.

Pulling back, away from Alice he looks at her with such sincerity and understanding. Understanding that Alice was broken, she made broken look beautiful.

"Alice, I know you're going through something. I can see it and you won't let me in. Please let me in I can help I am utterly, indefinably in love with you Alice Radner."

Alice puts her hand on his cheek and whispers "Good-bye."

Alice's Pov:

I can't face anything anymore even Ryder. So, instead of talking to the counselor as she originally planned Alice walked outside the school.

She needed to get out and away from Hilton High for good. She could always talk to Emily about transferring her but she didn't know if that would go over well.

For now, Alice decided to just head home and deal with the consequences of her skipping school once again. She rather face Emily then Ryder and everyone at school. With each step Alice let guilt and sadness take over her. Guilt for putting Ryder through all that pain and suffering and sadness over... She didn't know anymore.

Ryder's Pov:

How many times should a person allow someone to break their heart? How many times is it going be before Ryder gives up on Alice? Never. The thing he realized after Alice first broke his heart was he would never give up on Alice ever.

Staring off in space he didn't even realize the teacher was calling his name.

"Mr. Terrance, if you have time to day dream in class I am sure you have time to stay behind after class." A collection of 'ooooos' from my classmates made me put my head back down.

Staying behind in math class wasn't something on my list of things I wanted to do. Staring at Mr. Burns he waited for the lecture he was surely he would receive.

"Mr. Terrance I can't allow you to be sleeping in my class. Math is important your going have to sue it in real life you know."

Ryder tuned him out mumbling a "Yes, sir and won't happen again." After that, Ryder waited by the bus stop, so he could go home. He glanced over his shoulder and caught a girl looking at him.

Not just any girl, Isabella. 'Well this was going to go over greatly' Maybe she wouldn't notice him dunking down slightly in his hoodie he made his way into the bus.

'Please, don't stop there and pick Isabella up' He thought to himself as he glanced out the bus window. To his unfortunate surprise though, the bus did stop to pick her up.

"Hey Ryder." Isabella calls out. Digging in his pocket for his headphones he puts them in.

Noticing he had headphones in, Isabella sits down in a seat four rows away from Ryder. What do you know? Headphones do come in handy.
