Ryder's Pov:
I'm going to admit something I liked Camilla kissing me. It confused me a little considering I love Alice, but Camilla was such a great kisser. Trying to get my thoughts back together I push Camilla away from me.
"First of all, you barely know me. You don't go around kissing people you just meet!"
"Ryder, relax it was just a kiss it's not like I was purposing marriage to you."
"Why did you kiss me anyways?" Ryder didn't understand why Alice was attracted or still attracted to him and he sure as hell didn't understand why Camilla kissed him.
"Why not you seem interesting, I like interesting."
"Well I like this girl name Alice. Actually no, I love this girl name Alice."
"Is that why you kissed me back because you love Alice?" Camilla noted with sarcasm.
"You just caught me off guard is all?"
"You sound so sure of that who are you trying convince me or yourself?
'Both' Ryder thought instead of saying.
Without saying another word Ryder exits the nurse's office. Walking down the hall way he noticed someone in the counselor's office. This was weird because usually no one was in there except the counselor.
Deciding to see who was in there, Ryder opened up the door. When he opened the door he couldn't believe who was standing there.
Alice's Pov:
Out of all the places, Ryder was here. Of course he would be here he also goes to this school to. The thing that Alice was hoping for was complete avoidance of Ryder or anything Ryder related.
Here he was, staring at Alice like he didn't recognize the girl standing before him. Well, get in line Ryder I don't even recognize myself anymore either.
This was so awkward no one was talking all Ryder was doing was staring at her and all Alice was doing was staring at him.
"Alice?" Ryder asks, like he isn't certain it's me or not.
"No, it's not Alice. It's Lily who else could it be?" I bit out with sarcasm.
"You know I really wish people would tone it down with the sarcasm today."
"I wish for a lot of things. No one of them has come true."
"Like what?"
Alice just stares at him wanting to say 'you Ryder' but holds back.
"None of your business."
"You should make that your motto. Since you say it a lot and all." Alice just gives him a piss off glare and continues to wait for the counselor.
"I see you dyed your hair."
"You're very observant."
Ryder just shrugs guess he done talking to. Looking at Ryder Alice couldn't help, but notice the change. His once shaggy hair was even shaggier; his grey eyes had bags underneath them, and looked like he was a little skinnier. Which, wasn't really a good thing considering Ryder was already pretty much bones.
Deciding to add my opinion I say; "You look like absolute shit."
"Ever heard of a hang over?" Ryder replies back with sarcasm.
"It's a Monday though."
Ryder shrugs. "What can I say? The party never ends."
Alice gave him a knowing look, knowing that's exactly how she use to be. Life of the party always camouflaged her 'partying personality' with a quiet girl. Ironically, Alice was just the quiet girl now. Good-bye parties, hello quietness.
She didn't realize that Ryder was becoming her old self. I guess if I'm not like how I use to be, someone has to step up and replace me. Those thoughts lead her back to the red head that was kissing with Ryder.
"Who was the red head chick you were kissing?" I mean it wasn't any of Alice's business, but she decided to ask anyways.
"Camilla." Camilla? I haven't heard of her before. She must be new or something.
"Why you jealous?"
Alice laughs. "Not one bit." Lies, Alice was burning with a jealous rage but she doesn't want Ryder to know.
"Was it easy?" Ryder asks looking at me with empty eyes. I know those eyes, it's the same ones I have. The ones that tells someone 'Hey I'm broken, hurt, and lost.'
"Was what easy?"
"Was it east forgetting about everything we had? Was it easy for you to forget about me because for me, I still can't forget about you. No matter how many times I try to drink you away, your still freaking there."
Alice was a loss for words. She knew she hurt Ryder she had no idea she hurt him this much. When Alice opened her mouth to say something, Ryder silenced her with his hand.
"No, let me finish. I never did believe in love, but here you came in my life wearing those cute converses and that wonderful smile that could make any guy fall for you."
"I ended up ripping my heart out of my chest for you. I gave you my heart Alice. I never did that for any girl before you. Your special and you know what? I still love you Alice, even when you broke my heart I still love you.
I didn't notice, but I had tears in my eyes. I haven't cried in forever not even at my own mom's funeral. Here I was crying in front of the guy who's heart I wrecked.
"It also sucks because you're not the Alice I know. I remembered you. Not that you are dead or anything, but the old you is. I remember how your brunette hair cascaded below your shoulders. "
"How every time you were nervous you would bit your lip. I remember the twinkle in your hazel eyes whenever you talked about something that excited you. The way your face lit up when you were happy. The way you made everyone laugh and smile because that was the type of person you were. You are not that person anymore, Alice."
Alice had never seen someone look so broken, especially over her. An odd feeling was resting inside her, it was love. Even if Ryder was a mess right now he was a beautiful one.
"What happened to the girl that was always putting smiles on everyone's face? What happened to the free-spirited girl who always was up for an adventure? What made you change who you were Alice?"
Those questions were the ones Alice also wanted to know. If only she had the answer for herself and Ryder.
