"Um, Zeina." Seth shrugs, pointing to the girl, picking her as one of his team.
I sigh, watching my breath materialize in front of my face to a misty fog. My olive green long sleeve was doing me no justice against this morning chill.
The crowd of people around me is starting to thin as Seth and Reagan pick members for Football. (Soccer)
"Liam." Reagan says, skipping right over me. Liam leaves my side, sending me a grimace as he left, he didn't like either of the team captains.
I couldn't blame him. Reagan was apart of Seth's little clique, who have shown me a whole new side of them today, and it's only first period.
I could tell what was happening. Seth and Reagan aren't going to pick me, or Thomas, which is who they think I am.
"Jada." Seth says, a small smirk on his face as he glances at me.
It was strange, and angering, that if they knew I was actually Calum, I would have been one of the first picked.
"Tyler."
Tyler and josh high five, happy to be on the same team.
I shift my weight onto the balls of my feet, bouncing up slightly, trying to seem less mad than I am because I know for Thomas this usual, but that doesn't mean it's right.
I have to force my jaw not to tighten as the last few people are filtered into teams, leaving just Niall and I left.
Niall's hands were stuffed deep into his pockets and he looked as if he all he wanted was for the ground to break away and swallow him whole.
"Now this is tough." Reagan says amused. "The Irish leprechaun, or the geeky freak..." He glances between us.
"I think I'd like the pot of gold." He says, and Niall lets out a small breath, sending me a sad glance before walking to Reagan.
"If you wanted a pot of gold you would have been better off picking him." Seth says, gesturing to me as I walk closer to him, being the last one I had to go to his team. "Niall can nearly afford his socks." Seth sneers while the rest of the team snickers.
Niall's face turns a deep shade of red and Liam glared at Seth for picking on his best friend.
"Alright, let's get going." Barked Coach Morris. "Seth's team, jerseys."
A few groans resound from the people around me, nobody likes being the jersey team.
The dark blue mesh was generations old, and they say they wash them, however the muddy sweat smell says otherwise.
I grimace, pulling the foul smelling, mud and grass stained jersey on.
We go to our side of the field, our cleats sinking to the squishy, freshly rained on grass.
A small flame of excitement flickered to life as we get into position. Football is my favorite sport, and I'm actually pretty good.
I'm on the team, along with Luke and Michael, oh and let's not forget Seth.
The whistle was blown and its high pitched ring was echoing through the field.
