Like thick black goo
It seeps down into you
The ink of a tattoo
For me it was a representation
Of my articulation
And a show of my youth and participation
In this nation
And ultimately me becoming a societal creation
I'm 17 years old
Fend for yourself I was always told
And now my family asks why I'm so bold
So pig headed
Spitting words that are leaded
As if every syllable is a shot off from a gun
How could a mother ever not want her son
You see my whole life it was hard to smile
So I guess looking at this tattoo has me thinking for a while
About what it means to have fun
Because when your at your best is when troubles begun
always keep one eye open
Don't let those words go unspoken
Keep your teeth sharp
Don't ever let anyone get that close to your heart
My tattoo is to me a way to show what it means to be young wild and free
Or in other words just to be me.
