Fast cars late nights
Friend fights
That's what being a teenager is
Thinking of tomorrow's plan
Before today ever began
Do your work
Don't be a jerk
Even tho the systems unfair
And pray to god you make it out there
A better life then your parents had
Maybe them you'd be less mad
As a parent
And finally understand what they meant
When they said you'll know when your my age
But for now in our story that's not our page
Still young wild and free
trying to find the meaning of the word me
And the word we
And just how separate they should be.
That's what it means to be a teenager.
