Love has never felt like this

Chapter 9!

Cammie's POV

It had just gone 5pm when Shan's family sat down with mine to eat. My mom had cooked a half vegan buffet, and half normal. She was so considerate, you know? I could see whenever Shan and I were together, she would look at us, with adoration in her eyes. I could see that she knew just how much Shannon and I were in love. The food was super great and everybody was complimenting my mom for cooking such a tasty dish. After dinner Shan and I just sat watching a movie until we had to get ready, our families were going to a firework display. It was gonna be the first time Shan and I had been out with both our families at the same time. We were worried about the meet up because we weren't sure if our families would get along, however everybody was acting like best friends. We could see that everybody was genuinely having a good time. Shan's dad and his girlfriend was going to meet us at the display too. It really was a Bev-Scott family gathering. Shan and I were getting ready when we heard the door bell ring, must've been Shan's dad. "Dad! It's so great to see you again!" We heard casey's voice say.
"I know sweetie! It's great to see you too.. Where's Shan?"
"That's my cue to go out there"
Shan laughed, and grabbing my hand, we both walked out to greet Shan's dad and Julie (The dad's girlfriend).
"Dad! Hiiii!" Shan screamed,
"Hey sweetie!"
Shan and her dad engulfed each other in a massive hug. It was the first time they'd seen each other since Shan came out. However they had grown very close after she came out, and he began to understand her. He was able to know a lot more about her life, and she was able to let him in on every single aspect of her life. He could give her advice when it came to our relationship also. Whenever we argued or something, whenever we made up Shan would always say how her dad had helped her get through it all. Both of us were proud of how far he had came when it comes to accepting Shannon, and Shannon and i's relationship. He finally accepts our love by the "normal standards." Shan and her dad finally let go of the hug, and that's when her dad looked at me and opened his arms.. "Bring it in Cam." We hugged a small while, and then all of our ubers arrived. Shan, my mom, my dad and I were sharing one uber and then everybody else decided between them. I was cuddling into Shan the entire way. It felt so great to be around her again. Just to cuddle her is one of the best feelings in the world. I kinda wanna take things to the next level.. Show her how much she means to me, but maybe she isn't ready.. Maybe I'll talk to her tomorrow about it. I've also spoke to my parents already about wanting to get my own place with Shannon. I want to be able to wake up next to that beautiful face for the rest of my life. I'm truly in love with her. After driving for what seemed like a lifetime, we finally reached the place where the fireworks were. Shan and I got out of the car and she instantly grabbed my hand, whilst we were waiting for everybody else.. Shan and I just stood there cuddling and kissing. It really was cold in Pittsburgh, especially this time of the year. As the rest of our families arrived, we made our way onto the main bridge, there was a lot of people but it was cosy enough.. Everybody was in a massive group. Shannon had gone to talk to her mom for a bit, and I was talking to mine. 2 minutes from the countdown and I felt Shan cuddle me from behind and kiss my cheek, it was truly all I wanted for the rest of my life. The firework display went by pretty quick, but it was beautiful nonetheless, not as beautiful as Shan of course.. But beautiful. From the countdown; we counted along with the crowd and as soon as we got to one and the first firework went off, Shan turned me around and kissed me more passionately than she ever had before. It was perfect. "I love you CamBam" she said in an adoring voice..
"I love you more ShanBam" and then we began kissing again.
"Cammie, Shannon come on we're going to the bar now" we heard our families shout. We broke from the kiss and smiled at each other, Shan grabbed my hand, turned around and we began walking to the bar..
