Love has never felt like this

Chapter 12!

"Miss Beveridge, we are pleased to inform you that your job application to work in our Los Angeles branch has been accepted. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you on your start date." I read the letter in my head, mentally screaming in excitement. I'd told Cam about the job application a few months back and she was the one who encouraged me completely to go for it. We were at first going to live in Pittsburgh but after this news I'm not so sure.. What if she doesn't want to move to LA with me? I can't go back to a long distance relationship with Cam.. I love her far too much to be away from her all the time. It's currently 1PM so I figured I should make Cam some breakfast, wake her up, and then talk to her about my news.. I made Cam apples on toast and made her some coffee and put it in the mug I bought her which says "coffee makes me poop" and it's shaped like the poop emoji. I leave this all set out on the table, knowing nobody would eat it. I walked into Cammie's room, and sat on the side of the bed she was facing, I gently shook her - "Cam, princess.. Wake up baby I made you breakfast."
"Good morning babe" she replied in her croaky morning voice. She got up and I lead her to the table where her breakfast was awaiting.
"Shan this is amazing baby, thank you.."
She gently kisses my cheek and we sit down to eat.
"Cam.. I need to talk to you about something.."
She nods in response, telling me to go on.
"Well.. Remember when I applied for that job in the LA branch? Well it got accepted.."
"Oh my gosh! Shan that's amazing congratulations!"
I reach across and grab her hand gently.
"But Cam.. The apartment and everything that our parents bought.. I'll need to move to LA to get the job.."
At this I see Cammie's face drop and her eyes glazed over with tears.. This broke my heart.
She got up and went towards her room..
"Cam, baby please.."
I softly grabbed her wrist, she pulled me off.
"I just want space, Shannon.." She goes into her room and locks the door.
I feel like a spare part but I decide to clean up the mess I made before Sandie gets home. I put in my earphones and cleaned the dishes. I heard Cammie's mom shut the front door and came into the kitchen.
"Oh hey Shan, what're you doing? Shouldn't you be with Cam? Don't worry about the mess, darling."
"Oh uh Cam wanted space after this morning.. She kinda locked me out of her room.."
"Oh sweetie.. I'm sorry, you know what Cam's like when she's upset.. What made her that way, if you don't mind me asking of course?"
"No of course not, just let me finish drying my hands"
"Sure"
I dry my hands and join Sandie on the sofa.
"Well basically, a few months back I applied for a job in my firms LA branch.. Well I got a letter this morning saying that I got the place. I talked to Cam about what it would mean for us because I'd have to move to LA and what with you and Cam's dad and my parents all buying us an apartment.. Cam got upset because we didn't know what would happen. I mean.. I don't want to go back to long distance and I'm pretty sure Cam doesn't either."
I finish and by this point I have tears spilling through my eyes.
"Oh sweetie.."
She hugs me. I hug back. It's good to feel this kind of comfort after being so strong all the time.
"You might be surprised to know this fight was actually for nothing, Shan.. You see, Cam told us about the job when you applied, she said if you were to get the job she'd happily move with you to LA. So, before we bought an apartment in Pittsburgh or Dallas.. I got Cam's dad to phone up the branch and ask if you got the job, he pulled some strings and told us you did so.. We got the apartment in LA. You're both moving to LA, Shannon. We couldn't see you and Cam being sad without each other again. You're both miserable without each other. You can't bear it."
She laughs and so do I.
"So.. Cam and I are moving to LA?"
"Yes.."
"Oh my gosh, thank you Mrs Scott. I'm gonna go tell Cam the good news.. Better take her some water huh?"
"You sure do know what that girl wants when she's upset"
She laughs again.
"Yeah.. Yeah I know that girl like the back of my hand. I love her so much, you know.."
"I know, sweetie.. Now go and get your girl"
I smile at her and to get Cam a bottle of water.
I knock on the door
"Cam, baby.. Please open the door.. I got you some water.."
I feel shuffling around and then I hear the door unlock and Cam walking back to her bed. When I open the door and walk in, I put the water on Cam's dresser and sat in front of her, she put her head on my lap and rested. I ran my hand gently through her hair.
"I'm sorry I reacted that way, Shan. I just really don't want to go back to the long distance thing."
"That's okay baby.. But.. You don't have to.."
She looks up at me with a curious look on her face.
"How so?"
"Well your mum came in whilst I was cleaning the mess I made, I explained why you were upset, and she said that.. Since you told her about the job application and said if I got it you'd move to LA, she got your dad to see if I got a job and well.. Long story short.. We're moving to LA, Cam.."
"What?!!! OH MY GOSH SHANNON I LOVE YOU"
She gets up and practically jumps on me, making me lie on my back and Cammie on top of me, attacking me with kisses. I laugh.
"I love you too Camden Scott."
"Cam.. I was thinking.. I already know that I wanna be with you for the rest of my life. You know I'm not all that big on tattoos but.. What would you say if I got your name tattooed on me?"
"Shan, I'd love that.. Maybe I could get one with your name on too!"
"I'd like that baby!"
I kissed her head, and Cam fell asleep, laying on top of me. Essentially keeping me warm. She wasn't heavy, and I didn't mind that she was sprawled all over me. I have four words running through my head. Now this.. Is living.
