Chapter Nine

 “ZADIA!” “SELINA!” The two girls ran up to each other. “Hey, lets go get something from the Pizza place!” Selina suggested. “Okay race you there!” Zadia yelled. Selina got some pepperoni pizza, and Zadia got a salad. After they finished eating, they decided to do some shopping. Zadia got a purple striped shirt, and some black pants. Selina got a bright orange shirt and and a some yellow leggings. Selina was always looking for bright and colorful clothing!

When they finally left the mall, Zadia took the long way home. She wanted to have time to think. Being a fairy was harder than it seemed. Well at least we you live in the real world and are a fairy! Zadia wanted to talk to her parents about her idea of taking a vacation to Avalon. She wanted to get to stay there before school started up next August. Then she could talk to more fairies, and learn more about herself. What see really wanted to do, was start to learn her magic. That would be a lot of fun!

“Hey mom, uh, I was wondering if I could take a vacation.” “What are you talking about? Where?” her mom said. “Well, I wanted to go to Avalon, and stay there for a while before school starts. That way I can learn my magic.” “Oh, I don't know...Let me talk to your dad.” “Okay, but remember, that is where I really came from!” Zadia concluded, and walked up to her room. She knew her parents were going to say yes... they had to, it was after all, where she came from!

Zadia was packing her bags when she heard her mom calling her. “Coming!” she shouted. Her mom told her that they agreed she could go to Avalon for 3 weeks, and that it was up to her when she would leave. Zadia was so excited, she decided to leave that night. In the morning, she would start her magic lessons. She ran upstairs, and finished packing her bags. Then she ran back downstairs and told her parents goodbye. She grabbed her bags and sprinkled the dust on her head, and wished to be in Avalon.

 

Zadia appeared in her room. She unpacked her bags and went to find Declan. She wanted to make sure it was okay that she stayed in Avalon. She found him under the same tree she had left him under. He was still reading the same book too. “Declan” She whispered. Nothing. “Declan” she said louder. Still nothing. This time she yelled. “Yes?” Declan said. “Um, its Zadia, and I was, um, wondering if I could stay here for 3 weeks to learn magic, and stuff.” Zadia said. “Well, that will be just fine! I will make sure there is someone to teach you tomorrow.” Declan said happily. “Um, and if you don't mind me asking, what is that book you are reading?” Zadia asked shyly. “Oh, this? It is just a book about Winter Magic. I just want to brush up on my skills.” he said. “Oh, okay, sorry to interrupt you.” Zadia said.

This was great! She was finally going to learn her magic and get to stay in Avalon! First she was going to go see Shar though. She ran over to Shar's building, up the steeps, around the corner and three doors over. She knocked, and knocked, and knocked again, but Shar never answered. She opened the door a crack and peeked inside. No one was in there. Oh, that's right, Zadia thought, Shar is probably out guarding the gate. I'll just have to talk to him later. Zadia went back to the Palace and went to go find Diecon. She was very nice, Zadia could talk to her about being a fairy. Luckily, Diecon was in her room. Zadia could finally talk to someone! “Hey, what brings you here?” Diecon asked. “Well, I get to stay here for 3 weeks and I thought I could come in and talk to you a bit.” Zadia answered. The two girls talk for another hour, and then Diecon asked if Zadia could go give a package to Puck. She said if he wasn't in there, she could just walk in and set it on the desk. Zadia agreed and off she went.

She knocked on the door twice, but nothing happened so she opened it and went inside. She set the package on the desk as she was told. But as she was leaving, something on the bed caught her eye. It was a note book, sitting on the bed. It couldn't hurt if she took one look, could it? She walked over to the bed and opened it. Inside, it said, Plans to become king: 1. Get rid of Declan. 2. Release Monsters into Avalon. 3. steal all the gold and silver. 4. imprison the monsters again and become king.
