Zadia stormed off, this time to pack her bags. She was going to find out about her past whether her parents wanted her to or not! She got on the computer and searched her name. She found one place, Gypsum, CO, that was about 177 miles from Colorado Springs, where she lived. She hoped it wasn't a trap, after all it was a bit strange to find a place you've never been to before under your name! She would finish packing her bag, hide it under the bed, and sneak out at night. She had a key to her friend Selina's house, so she would stay there until morning. Then with the money she had, she would get a bus and go to Gypsum. It should only take her about 3 hours, but then where would she stay when she got there? Maybe she shouldn't go. Her parents would be worried sick, and they might even call the police. That would be really bad. But she had to. She had no other choice if she wanted to know where she came from. She could write her parents a note and tell them not to worry about her. They would just have to trust her.
She got on the computer one last time before she went to sleep. She wanted to map out her trip again, and see if she could find somewhere to stay while she was in Gypsum. The trip was fool-proof. She knew exactly what bus to get on, where to tell them to go and she had enough money. Everything should work out great! She also found a place she could stay called the Silver Spruce Motel. It was $50 a night. She would stay for 2 nights and a day, that would hopefully be enough time to figure out some things. If that wasn't enough time, she could probably find somewhere else to stay that's cheaper. The only problem was, she didn't know where to get $100. She had enough for food and the bus ticket, but not the hotel. She could just borrow the money from her parents and pay them back later.
Finally, she decided she had everything ready and I was time to sleep. She set her alarm for 4:30, a good 2 hours before her parents should be up. Then she climbed into her bed, and fell asleep.
She woke up at 4:00. A half and hour before she had to get up. At least this way she would have more time to write her note to her parents. She sat down at her desk and started writing.
Dear mom and dad,
I left home to find out about my past. Don't come looking for me, or worry. I'll be perfectly fine. Everything is ready. Also I had to borrow $100 to get into a hotel. I hope to be back in 3-4 days.
Love, Zadia
She knew her parents would be worried sick, but she felt she had to do this. Maybe she should add that.
P.s. I know you will be very worried, but I felt I have to do this. You said you didn't know where I came from. Well I'm going to find out. I'm sorry
There, that would have to do it. Well no backing down now! She thought. She put a little more food in her bag, and she took a picture of her parents. She wanted to make sure they were with her. With that, she walked to the door, opened it and walked out.
