Kale drove into the schools student parking lot where Makenna asked me to meet her. I wasn't sure why she wanted me here. Whatever it must be, it had nothing to do with my mother, thankfully. I called her and we talked briefly, before she had to hang up. Even she sounded a little shocken up, but not as much as Makenna had.

"Oh god, there you are!" Makenna's voice came into war shot. I turned, swatting my body in the direction of her voice. She came running to me.

"Whats so important that we were called here for?" I asked, concerned.

Now that she was close up, I noticed dry tear paths, that ran down her face. She had been crying, and by the looks of it, for quite sometime. Did Marcus have something to do with it?

"Oh god, it was h-horrible! I-I don't- I can't even...(sobs) She d-died!" Makenna's voice was filled with fear, as she choked on her words.

Someone died? Who was she?

"Who died?" I asked, putting my hands on her shoulders, trying to calm her down.

"C-Cr-Cru-Cruz." She choked.

My face paled, as I went into shock. The girl on the cheerleader team. The one that was a friend of mine.

"Athena?" I heard Kale's voice go into panic, as Makenna sobbed more. I could hear faint voices, and blurry people rushing towards me, but none of that matters.

Cruz Popper died. How?

"She committed suicide." The words rang through my ears.

Oh god, it's all my fault! Only if I had been there, it would have never happened. She'd still be alive if I never skipped school. I should have been there.

Hot burning tears burned down my face, like lava. I closed my eyes tightly, in hopes the tears would stop, and that when I wake, this would all be a horrible dream.

I blacked out.

***************

"Fuck, fuck, fuck!" A rattled voice cursed.

My eyes hurt when I go to rub them. Sore like I was punched in the eye. Slowly I open my eyes, letting the sunlight flood into my vision.

"She's awake." Someone whispered.

I sit up, on what feels like a bed. But not my bed. There were red blankets covering my body. As I looked around, I could feel the familiarness of the room. I was back at Kale's house. But why? I must have blacked out, because I can't remember a single thing that happened today.

"Kale?" I ask for. I see a bunch of blurry bodies, but I can't make out who they are. One walks towards me, a tall-strong body.

"How are you feeling, Athena?" It was him! His voice felt comforting, letting me know I wasn't captured by some randome people.

"Now that I know its you, I feel safe." I murmured, as I lied back down on the bed, letting my eyes wander to the celing.

"We should let you to be." A softer voice said. Was Makenna also here?

Sounds of shuffling rummaged out of the room, with the door closing. Everyone who was here left besides Kale. My eyes came to focus.

"How are you really doing?" Kale asked again, his voice fuming with concern.

Why is he all of a sudden worrying about me like I'm a sick puppy?

"My eyes hurt. Did someone punch me?" I whine.

"Hahaha, your funny!" Kale laughs, tucking a stray hair behind my ear. Did he really think I was kidding? Like Hello! My eyes are killing me, quit joking around!
