"Where is he? Where did my father run off to?" I ask, my voice shouting as tears stream down my face. Why would my father leave? Why would he abandon his wife and only daughter?

"Jacob left due to reasons I cannot tell. He will return someday." Brendon answers with little paitents.

"Like when I'm already married?" I shout back, hurt by everything around me.

"He will return soon, and defiantly before you have a chance to get married." He reassures.

"And whys that?" I ask.

"Because he has bartered you off already!" He shouts back, his face holding a tight annoyed expression.

"What do you mean by that?"

"When you and Noah were younger, your dad and I saw something between the two of you, and the deeds already been finished, your to marry Noah. Thats why I didn't want Noah going around messing with you incase you started dating and broke up, how would you two end up marrying then?" He explains.

"Your sick." I whipe away the tears, walking away. I head towards the door still wearing Noahs shirt and sweater. I don't stop to give them back, that can be done another day, I head to my jeep, hearing Noah running up behind me calling my name.

"Athena wait."

"What do you want? Did you know all along about their little marriage plan?" I ask, my body shaking. Why would a father do something as sick as that? Whatever happened to true love?

"Yes, but honestly I was against it, I wanted to create my own fairy tale, that was of course until I met the older you. When I heard Jacob left, I thought you did to with your mom. It was until Kale introduced me to you, I realized I already knew you." Noah says, his feet stepping closer to me.

"Yes, my dads an asshole, but he was right about something. Me and you, we are meant to be, I can feel it." His words feel so reassuring, so comforting, I almost want to belive him.

"You may be right there." I say softly, not giving him false hope. Noah made me feel something I don't know how to describe, its familiar yet warming, like the way your bed feels on those cold Monday mornings.

His arms wrapped around my back, pulling me into a comforting hug. I hug him back, before pulling away, leaving to get into my jeep.

Makenna sits on the edge of my bed like a stranger would, trying to comfort my soft sobs. When I came back home from Noah's, Makenna was waiting in the kithen for my arrival. She begged me to spill every detail to why I was out with Noah for the day. I explained to her how our fathers were close, leaving out the part where Noah and I had sex and when Brendon had told me about the arranged marriage.

"You seem to be very distance recentlty." Makenna pouts, swinging her legs as she sits on the edge of my bed, as if she were waiting for something.

"Me? Your the one sitting on the edge of my bed." I point out stubbornly.

"I just don't want to invade your space." She answers back.

"Haven't you always invaded my space?" I ask doubtfully, laughing softly.

She fumbles with her hands, sweating bullets. She doesn't laugh with me at my teasing comment. She appears to be nervous, siting there fiddling.

"What are you not telling me?" I stare into her eyes, that swirl with nervousness.

"N-nothing." Her voice is jumbled as she speaks.

"Come on there's something your hiding from me." I pressure her, looking deeper into her eyes. Someone once told me the eyes were the windows to a persons soul.
