PARKER'S POV
It was the middle of the night when I first heard the sound that caught my attention. I was laying in my bed, thinking about what I've been thinking about constantly, Lacey. I still need to wait another day for reinforcements to come.. A day too long, in my opinion. I had just gotten back from The Society's headquarters, pinpointing Lacey's location with the Energy Finder. She is located at a forest residing about 200 miles from here. There has been several impulses telling me to go rescue her by myself, but The Boss's reasons are the only things that are keeping me behind. But when I heard the sound, not even The Boss's reasons can chain me behind. It was the sound of Lacey's voice calling my name. I heard it not through my ears but through my mind. I thought I imagined it at first, but my gut tells me to go and rescue her. I pack a bag full of the necessities such as food, water, money, a flashlight, and a pack of matches. My hand reached into my pocket and then dials The Boss' number. It would probably be a good idea for The Boss to know what I am going to do, incase something happens and his assistance would be needed.
The dial tone starts as I silently whisper, don't pick up. "Hello...?" speaks a groggy voice.
"I'm going to get Lacey."
And then I hang up, not wanting to hear his protests. I'm sure The Boss would understand. My explanation for my rash action isn't needed.
Vibrations tremble in the palm of my hand as my phone signals someone is calling. The caller id shows its The Boss.
"What?" I say impatiently.
"Parker, think this through. There is only one more---"
"Look, I heard her voice calling my name, she needs me."
"But---"
I hang up the phone not letting him finish. It vibrates again in my hand, but this time I choose not to answer it.
"I'm coming Lacey," I think to myself as I turn on car ignition and drive off into the darkness.

LACEY'S POV
I stare at Brody, trying to comprehend his plan. I must say it caught me off guard. I didn't expect this at all. I originally thought it would be some elaborate plan that would be brilliant, turns out it's nothing like that.
"So...?" Brody says, growing slightly tiresome of the silence.
I don't answer.
So in five years I would come back here and get impregnated by Brody...But what if Parker and I are together? Could I allow myself to leave him for a bit and get knocked up by some other guy? Could he allow me? In the midst of my thoughts I can feel Brody trying to prod in them.
"Back off!" I yell at him through my mind.
He twitches slightly at the sound of my voice reverberating in his head.
"Brody...I don't know how to respond. Give me some time." I say shortly after.
He nods his head, understanding my predicament.
"Night," I say as I walk back to my room.
"Night..." he mumbles back.
I walk to my room and sit in my sleeping quarters. To be quite honest, Brody's plan is crap. I'm not even going to bother thinking about his proposition. He's asking so much from me, all of the Dviames are. Do they expect for some 17 year old girl to save their whole species? I've come to the conclusion that making a reasonable deal with them is not probable or possible. My only option is to escape. It sounds easier said then done. I have put some thought into that matter, but I don't come up with anything plausible. Escaping by myself, is a fruitless attempt. So what should I do? I mean...there is another angle to this, but it might prove to be rather tricky. I've noticed the Divames are like a clan. The Elders I suspect are the leaders, and the female elder is the one that makes all the decisions; while the two by her side reason and back her decisions. So what if I was to get rid of her? I'm not talking about murder, but more like put her up as a threat. Since she makes all the decisions, without her, wouldn't the whole place go into chaos? Everyone here has been in this grieving mood because of Audric's death. How would they survive if their leader was in danger? But still, this plan has holes. Even if I somehow did manage to threaten the clan to let me go or I'll kill her, what would happen in the future? I would always have to watch my back, my every step, my every move. I'd always be paranoid and cautious. But if that's the life I would live to avoid the deed, to be with Parker...could I do it? Before I can think any further I hear a faint voice say, "I'm coming Lacey." I recognize it immediately as Parker's voice. No it can't be...can it? Is he really coming to get me? I can't help but feel a surge of happiness at that thought, but it disintegrates at another thought. If he came here he wouldn't stand a chance against the Divames. Unless he has some sort of plan...? I know he has abilities but what are they? He has telekinesis...but when I asked him about it he said he has something like that.. He's a Polynatural...what are his other ability? It seems too coincidental that we both have telekinesis. I then feel Brody's presence trying to see my thoughts again.
