Zerena and I were sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast. Seth still hadn't woken up.

"Why are you staring at me?" She asked.

"I'm staring at the beautiful angel you are," I answered.

She rolled her eyes, "whatever," she said in an annoyed tone and sighed.

"Dude stop hitting on my sister, she's off limits," Seth walked in, "besides, you're horrid at flirting."

  I chuckled, "says you."

"Hey, the ladies love me," he defended.

Zerena choked on her food. When she could breathe she started laughing, "what ladies?"

"Says the one who hasn't even been in a relationship yet," he teased.

"That's because you punch any guy who comes within a five foot radius of me! They're all too scared to even come near me with you around," she defended.

"Are you sure it's not you they're scared of? Who knows?" He asked seriously.

Her eyes darkened, "only the ones I trust."

  "Knows abo..." I started.

"Anyway gotta go. Bye," she pepped and quickly walked out.

"Where are you going?!" Seth shouted at her.

"To hang with Damon! Be back later!" The front door closed and the engine to her car roared to life. She had a black ram pick up truck, it was her baby and I swear she won't let anyone else drive it much less touch it.

"She's been hanging out with him a lot recently," I commented.

"Ya I know. I like the kid though. So I don't mind all that much. I mean I'm gonna have to let her go someday, might as well be now," Seth shrugged.

"Alright then. I'm gonna go home. My mom has been blowing up my phone for the past hour and half."

  "Bye man."

  "See ya."

I walked out to my car, which was just a simple Toyota, and drove home.

"Hey mom!" I closed the door behind me.

"Where the hell have you been?! I've been calling you for the past two hours!"

"I've been at the Carter's house. Yesterday was Seth's and Zerena's birthday party. And my phone died."

I had turned my phone off before I came inside so it would seem like it was actually dead.

"Fine. I'll let it pass this time. But not again," she grunted and walked away. She said the same thing last time and the time before that and every other time I've done something like this.

I chuckled and walked to my room. I plugged my phone in and turned it back on. Problem solved, crisis averted.

Monday. The day of the week that every student dreads. I don't know how many times I've expressed my hate for Mondays but I will keep expressing it and that's never gonna change.

I was sitting at lunch and Zerena sat down across from me and Seth.

  "Hey guys," she plopped down.

  "Hey," we said.

Damon walked up and sat down beside her. He slung his arm over her shoulders and kissed her forehead.

Seth cleared his throat and Damon quickly removed his arm and scooted over about a foot away from Zerena.

"Seth. I know you don't want me and your sister dating, hell she probably doesn't even want to date me, but can you just give me one chance?" I whispered, "one chance to ask her and see how it goes."

He contemplated this for a while, "fine. One chance. If she rejects you..."

"I'll back off," I finish for him.

"Good," he smiled and turned back to Zerena and Damon.

"Seth can I ask you a question?" Damon asked.

"You just did," Seth smirked.

Zerena giggled. "Ok then. I'm just gonna ask you. Will you let me date your sister?" Damon continued.

"Saw that coming," I muttered to myself.

"I'll think about it. Until then please leave. I have some family matters that need to be discussed." Seth answered.

Damon nodded his head and left. Zerena looked at Seth funny, "family matters? Like what?" She asked.

Seth gave me a pointed look and didn't say anything. "Wait you mean right now?" I asked surprised.

He nodded, "yep. Right here, right now."

"Shit," I muttered. I looked at Zerena, "Zerena?"

"Ya?" She asked, confused as to what we were doing.

"I know it's the worst timing but will you go out with me?" I asked.

  She looked at Seth "why?"

"Why what?" He asked, "what did I do?"

"You obviously let him ask me. Why? What about Damon?"

"Well first I granted him his wish to ask you out before Damon asked me if he could date you. And second Damon's cool and all but I know Dean better than anyone else an I know that he will treat you right and that he would never hurt you on purpose."

She looked back at me, "I'm gonna have to sleep on it," she told me.

"Ok. Take all the time you need." I smiled.

God yesterday was horrid. And here we were standing at the front of the school waiting for Zerena to show up.

"I thought you said she left at the same time you did?" I asked Seth.

"She did. She probably went to go get coffee. She always goes on a caffeine craze when she's stressed out."

"I know. I remember during mid terms last year."

"That was the worst I'd seen her."

"My worst what?" Zerena walked up.

"Your worst caffeine craze was last years mid terms." I answered.

"Oh ya. That was horrid. I looked like I had rabies." She made a disgusted face.

We laughed at her. "Alright I'm just gonna get this over with. Dean I will not date you, I have Damon and we have something going already," she sighed, "I just don't want to ruin something when it's barely begun. I really like you though. I don't care what my brother says," she put her hand up to stop Seth when he opened his mouth, "but I want to see where it goes with Damon first. Sorry."

"Why are you sorry? I'm happy. I don't have to worry about him hitting on you anymore," Seth exclaimed.

We ignored him, "it's cool. I'll wait... for as long as it takes," I looked into her eyes.

"Thank you," she hugged me.

"No problem," I hugged her back.

The bell rang and we pulled apart. "Damn love birds," Seth muttered. We each punched him in the arm. "Ow! What the fuck?!" We just laughed and walked to class.
