Ashton Cooper and Selena Mckenzie have hated each other since the first day they've met.
Selena knew his type all too well,the player type who could woo any girl as long as she was willing. Not that she was a prude,but there was a limit to being loose,right? She would teach him a lesson about his "loving and leaving" them attitude,she vowed.
The first day Ashton met Selena, the latter was on her high and mighty mode looking down on him. Usually girls fell at his beck and call without any effort from him. Modesty was not his forte,but what the hell,you only live once,right? He would teach her a lesson about her "prime and proper" attitude,he vowed.
What they hadn't expected was the sparks flying between them...hell what now?

(I feel like this synopsis doesn't fit the story well. Maybe if it was based on their beginning years, but not for what the actual story is about. It makes it seem like they are out to get each other. Like them deciding to fake date to teach the other a lesson, but that's not the story. Yes they hate each other and end up in a fake engagement, but they don't have ulterior motives for each other.They just argue a lot and go out of their way to make the other feel bad.)

Best Enemies is based on two characters who have hated each other since their teen years. I like that the writer kind of put a time lapse in so we can see where the hate started and how it continued up to when the story starts. Ash's 'uncle' is known for meddling in relationships. In fact he's the reason Ash's best friend is now married with a kid to their childhood friend and Selena's sister. To beat Jake's father's plan they come up with a plan of their own. Ash doesn't want to end up with the girl his uncle has eyes on. So they decide why not beat him to the punch with a wife of his own,one he wouldn't fall in love with. That's where Selena comes in. She's put in a bad situation and has no choice,but to agree with his offer. Half a million and a permanent job to pretend to be the man she hates' girlfriend/fiancée.
I don't know if there is a second book, but because of the time lapse in the beginning I think Jake and Rachel might have a story of their own.
