*Just so you know, I have nothing against Phoebe Dahl. This story is just a product of my imagination and some things are required to be written in order for the story to make sense.*

Waking up with somebody's arm wrapped around her waist was a rare and unusual thing for Vienna. She usually liked sleeping all alone, but this time knowing Ruby Rose's arm was around her and her breath was on her neck made her feel a bit more comfortable and free. She didn't want to shift or turn too much even though her body already stiffened from sleeping in only one position, just so she wouldn't wake up the girl peacefully sleeping next to her. Vienna's heart still ached and she was still broken, she couldn't say it hurt less but Ruby definitely made it a bit less tragic. She was too caught up in her own worries that she barely noticed Ruby waking up and shifting under the blankets.

-Good morning, beautiful. - the Australian broke the silence.

-Good morning, Ruby.

-What are you thinking about?

-Nothing, I'm just... - she paused for a bit.

-Scared?

Vienna felt a lump in her throat because the other girl finally said something the other one couldn't bring herself to say or to admit it, so she simply nodded.

-Oh, honey, don't be scared. - the girl with the incredibly sexy accent wrapped her arms around Vienna and rested her head on her chest. - I'm here for you. Okay?

-Okay.

-Good. Now let's shower then make some breakfast. - she got up and started undressing since she was still wearing the suit from yesterday, only without the jacket and the tie.

-You go first.

The girl smirked. - Oh come on, I thought we were doing this together. - she laughed at the sight of a wide eyed Vienna and then told her she was only joking. - I'll be quick.

-Take your time. - the other girl added.

While the Australian was to busy singing in the shower, Vienna finally had time to think. Really think.

And then the pain hit her.

The feeling she was waiting to arrive. The feeling of her chest tightening, tears welling in her eyes, the almost unbearable pain in her heart and head. She started shaking uncontrollably, cold taking over her body but the temperature was rising inside of her. Her legs were weak and she finally gathered all of her strength to let out a sob and then she fell back on the bed. It's true when they say that you don't know what you had until you lose it. Vienna was mad, frustrated, angry at herself for letting him go while he was still angry at her. She wished they at least solved the problems between them before he passed away. And she was scared, scared of life, of attachment, of love, of destiny. She was losing all hopes and she couldn't control what was happening in her mind.

The sight of Vienna sobbing on the bed and clenching her fists really saddened Ruby and broke her heart, since she realized what might've happened. With a towel still wrapped around her body, she quickly took it off, put on some undergarments and then sat down next to Vienna so she could hug her, but the other girl pushed her away.

-Stop! - she said. - Stop confusing me!

Ruby raised an eyebrow out of utter confusion. - What has gotten into you? What are you talking about?

-Stop, go away!

-Vienna, I'm not going anywhere.

-Go. Let me go! - the girl was still in shock so she had no idea what she was saying. Ruby figured it out and somehow pursued Vienna to give up the fighting and finally let her embrace her. She was playing with her hair by gently stroking it and rocking her like a baby, back and forth in her arms.

-Shhh, I'm here now. I'm here, don't worry. Let it all out. Let it go.

-I- I can't. - the other girl said through heavy tears. - I can't let go.

-You have to, Vee. - Ruby put both of her hands around the girl's face and raised Vienna's head slightly so she could look her in the eyes. - Because if you don't, it will hurt more than you can imagine. And then it will be too late.

She caught a few more tears before sliding down the girl's cheeks before putting her to sleep again. She put a blanket over her and moved some strands of hair out of Vienna's face, then leaned down and kissed her forehead gently.

-I'm there, Vienna. I'll always be there.- she gently whispered and then left the room so she could cook something in case Vienna wakes up hungry.
