Sun peeked through the window from the small space the curtains left between, which made Vienna groan since it woke her up. She wasn't a morning type of person but this time it got worse, she literally never wanted to get out of bed. Her head was pounding and her eyes were puffy from crying herself to sleep. She never knew she had such strong feelings for Ruby until she lost her. She lost her to another girl, and that girl was fucking Madison Paige. Until now she never knew how much she missed her touch and how she shivered whenever her hand contacted with her skin. How much she missed her voice and perfect accent, they were like melodies to her ears. Her laugh, the most beautiful one she had ever heard. Her appearance, her character, everything about her was perfect to Vienna and she missed her so much. She missed their little talks, jokes, puns, movie nights... She got attached to her and didn't know how to undo it.
Almost as if against her will she got out of bed and slowly got downstairs to make herself some coffee. She noticed her mother was in there, too, making some breakfast. They haven't spoke since the day they had the fight, while her father was still among the living. The thought brought sharp pang to her heart but she decided to keep her composure until she reaches her room again.
-Do you want some eggs? - Vienna's eyes widened at the sound of her mother speaking again.
She nodded in response.
-I made you coffee, too. - the woman spoke again.
-Thanks. You didn't need to.
-It's no problem.
At breakfast, it was quiet for a while until Mrs. Costello, or should I say, Margot Stella Costello decided to pour her heart out at her daughter.
-Look. I know it's been hard for the last few days. We've been through a lot and I know words can't describe the pain that we're both feeling. And I know I haven't been fair to you in any way. You were right, it's your body and I shouldn't have overreacted. Not talking to you is the worst thing I could ever do and I am so sorry for not being there when you needed me the most. I was selfish and inconsiderate, I was weeping in my room for hours not thinking about how you must've felt. I was just lost and your rebellious outburst didn't help at all, but I'm not blaming you. If you need to talk to me about anything...
-Oh, mom ... - Vienna got up from her chair and hastily hugged her mother. - It's okay, I know you're in pain. I forgive you.
-Thank you, Vienna.
-The house sometimes feels so empty without them, you know? It's just us two in this huge mansion, you don't go to work, I don't go out a lot and then... It's boring. Quiet. Hallow.
-I know, darling. But we'll get through this. - she gently squeezed the young girl's hand.
-Mom, I need to tell you something. Something I've been hiding for years now. - she sat back down in her chair. - It's now or never.
A worried look spread across her mother's face as she put down the fork she was using and started concentrating on her daughter's words.
-I... Met someone. And I like that person very much, but I messed up and hurt her, and now we can't be together.
-Why not? What did you do?
-I was blind, mom. - her voice started trembling. - I misread the hints she had sent me, I was inconsiderate, I didn't see what was right in front of me. I went out with somebody else.
-Oh, dear... Wait, what?! - realization hit her. - She had sent you? Like... A girl? - her mother's eyes widened but she wasn't mad.
