I ran down the stairs and to the kitchen and stopped, finding a big breakfast laid out on the table

"Mom?" I called, wondering whose breakfast was on the table.

My mother poked her head out of the kitchen. My mother is beautiful in every way. She's always kind but fair, and her faith in God is something any Christian yearns for. She's beautiful on the outside too, with her pretty blonde hair and beautiful eyes framed by glasses.

"Yes honey?" She asked, moving the hair out of her face.

"Who's the breakfast for mom? Do we have company or something?" I asked,

"Its for you Stephie! I figure you were still shaken up about poor Avery and you were upset she won't be there for you today, so I thought a nice breakfast would make a nice start to your day!" My mom said, smiling at me.

The lump in my throat got bigger. I ran over to where she was standing and gave her a big hug.

"Thanks mom, you're the best." I whispered.

                 My mom hugged me back.

"It was nothing Stephie, now go enjoy it before you have to leave for school!" She said smiling.

I sat down and started scarfing down the pancakes and sausage with one eye on the clock. There was no way I was missing the bus again, one time was scarring enough. It was fall of seventh grade, I had taken too long getting ready and I ran after the bus all the way to school in the rain trying to catch up. I arrived soaking and miserable, but Avery was there to help me get cleaned up and cheery again. Avery was always there.
