Chapter 9

  It has been three days since the encounter with Tyler and I haven't seen Louis since. I will occasionally see some of his Knights and we will talk briefly before they are suspiciously called away. I have seen Tyler since the incident and he glares at me every time I pass him but he holds a cold smirk across his face that sends chills down my spine.

  Currently I am wondering around the castle looking for something to do. The other girls have already began their jobs. Claire has started working as what I could guess you say as the royal secretary, Belle has taken up her position of being maid, with Charis, Dani, and I's job we are free to wonder the castle. None of us hardly ever see our buyers, but we see the others on occasion. It's strange really, like they are purposely avoiding us. Why? I have no idea. Why would they have bought us simply to just avoid us?

  Dani was sleeping and Charis was eating in her room while I walked toward the large door at the back of the castle that peeked my curiosity, but never got to explore. I wonder where that leads to.

  I giggled and skipped excitedly toward it before inspecting it and pushing it open. It creaked loudly and was rather heavy, but I managed to successfully open it. "Woah." I gasped and my eyes widened. There was a large, lush garden that went on for what seemed like a mile in all directions.

  There was a huge fountain in the middle that had crystal clear water flowing over the top. There were hedges lined up in all different directions like a maze and I smiled in even more excitement. Flowers lined the tops of the hedges and trees lined the outer rim of the lush garden. The trees seemed to be the entrance to a deep, thick forest causing chills to run down my spine.

  I walked slowly toward the large hedged archway at the beginning of the garden maze. I looked up at the sky and smiled as it was a beautiful cloudless day with blue sky and the sun shining bright.

  We were told to not go off the castle grounds so this wasn't exactly disobeying the rules.

  I put my arms out to my sides so that my fingertips touched the sides of the leaf archway as I passed through it. I kept my arms out as I began twisting and turning with the hedges before finally stopping in my tracks at the fountain and gasping. There were flowers everywhere! The fountain sat in all it's glory right in the middle of a flower field. There was a small pathway leading to the fountain and several leading to the other parts of the maze.

  I smiled and skipped to the flowers before stopping at the edge. I felt like a five year old and it was fabulous. I ran through the flowers with my arms in the air smiling proudly as my head tilted toward the beautiful sky. I fell backwards into the flowers and took in all the wonderful smells of them. My body was hidden with petals and the only trace that I had been here being my trails through the flowers. I closed my eyes finally feeling peaceful and let sleep devour my body.
