Chapter 39

  My eyes widened and a small gasp escaped my snout. My heart fluttered uncontrollably causing my insides to warm at the sight of him standing before me. He was alive and he had shifted. He was going to be okay. Relief flooded throughout my body but I remained still in shock against the wall. He hadn't made eye contact with me yet, but I could sense his own relief. I was enthralled that he was going to be okay now. My mate had made it through just like I hoped. Now I can get out of my wolf form and we can finally start on our life together.

  The rogue's eyes visibly widened at the sight of Louis standing fearlessly in front of him. His stance was tense and ready to fight causing pride to shoot through me at the sight of my handsome mate. He was all mine and he was alive.

  The rogue whimpered as fear overwhelmed him and ran out of the hospital with his tail tucked between his hind legs. It had been nine months since I have seen the blueness of his eyes. His wolf spun around to face me and his eyes lit up. 'You're alive.' I whimpered in pure joy. He shifted while striding towards me grabbing ahold of my furry face. "Are you okay?" I melted into his touch leaning my wolf head against the palm of his hand. 

  "Have you shifted?" I shook my head and he frowned. "Concentrate on yourself as a human. It will hurt." I nodded, excited to finally shift back into my human form. I closed my eyes, prepared for the pain and the feeling of being held in Louis' arms once again. I winced and cried out in pain as I felt my bones crack and pop becoming smaller while the fur disappearing from my body. The shift had left me out of breath and in pain. I slowly opened my eyes to find myself in just underwear. A blush rose onto my cheeks in embarrassment and I slowly looked up at Louis. I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck and pulled him into a long, passionate kiss. It had been a very long time since I have held him in my arms and kissed his lips. We both pulled away equally out of breath and smiled widely at each other.

  "I missed you so much." My voice was slightly hoarse, but I didn't care there was nothing that could ruin this moment. His eyes saddened and he placed his hands on my cheeks brushing his thumb along my cheek bones. I leaned into his touch and my eyes fluttered in appreciation but remained open. "I'm sorry I left you for so long." I closed my eyes tightly to prevent a tear from slipping down my cheeks. "I was in wolf form for so long. I could feel her beginning to take over. I..." I trailed off towards the end hoping he got the message without me verbally saying it. He wrapped his arms tightly around my bare waist and pulled me flush against his chest. "Everything will be okay now."

  I nodded into his chest. The bare contact of our skin reminded me that we were just in our underwear causing the blush to rise to my cheeks once again. I felt him chuckle and pull away, looking me deep in the eyes. "I love you so much, Amelia. More than you could ever imagine." I smiled up at him with admiration clearly visible in my eyes. "I love you so much, Louis."

  Our lips met once again in a wonderful kiss.

Hey guys!!

Thanks to everyone who was a praying for my mom although I need y'all to continue!! Her surgery was postponed because she became really really really ill last night and my dad and grandma took her to the ER. We thought it was just another round of C-diff because her symptoms were the same but the test came back negative. They did a cat scan and it came back with minor appendicitis but the doctor said it's not severe enough to do anything about yet. It really concerns me though because that type of thing can go really bad really quick and I wish they would just take it out before anything bad happens. So she is still at the hospital and will be until further notice. Please keep her in thoughts and prayers because I'm really worried!!!!!
