I felt something large place itself gently on my side. I shrunk further into a ball trying to protect myself before I heard a whimper. I cautiously moved my arms down enough so that I could see. The wolf slipped its large paw away and stared down at me. My green eyes remained wide and cautious as I watched it's every move.

It whimpered again and it's head turned to the side looking down at its shoulder. It's head lifted back up and met my eyes before whimpering again. I slowly sat up with my legs spread out to the side. I sat up on my knees and rested my bum against the back of my calves. My breathing was still irregular and my muscles still ached.

I slowly put my hand out as a motion for it to come closer. It came and sat directly in front of me watching me with big curious eyes. I swallowed and tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear nervously. I took a shaky hand and placed it against its large head full of thick fur. It nuzzled its head against my hand causing a small smile to pull at my lips. I removed it and kept slow motions still afraid and cautious of this magnificent creature that sat in front of me.

I brought my hand down to its shoulder to see a small amount of blood. I brushed its fur away and saw no mark or sign of a cut causing my brows to furrow in confusion. I tilted my head and put my other hand to pull the fur away still not finding anything but a small amount of blood soaked into the fur. I leaned back against my calves and looked up into its eyes.

The thought of Tyler lying lifelessly in the hallway crossed my mind and sent a chill down my spine. Knowing that the creature in front of me caused it sent another unnerving chill down my spine. I didn't dare look in the direction of Tyler.

I kept my eyes focused on the wolf's curious ones. He watched me intently as I stood and dusted off the grey sweatpants that were rolled up never loosing eye contact. When I stood my eyes widened to see the wolf still sitting and it was almost my height. A sudden wave of nerves rushed over me causing me to swallow deeply and another chill to run down my spine.

I took a step forward only to yelp and almost collapse to the ground if it wasn't for the wolf coming and standing under my arm to keep me from falling. I gripped ahold of its side and pulled myself up before looking down to see my left ankle slightly inflamed. Great.

I sighed and looked at the wolf again to see him watching me with a tinge of pain in its eyes. I wrapped my arm better around its back and took a step forward. We began to hobble down the hallway until we came to a set of stairs.

I hadn't spoken a word the entire time until now. "I don't think I can go down." I whispered to myself almost in hopes that maybe it would understand.

I don't even know what to call it. It's not a normal wolf that's for sure. I don't believe in werewolves and vampires and such so I don't think that could be it. Maybe it's like a wolf on steroids in a sense. I don't know. I think I'm going crazy. All I know is that it's a magnificent creature regardless and for some reason it's helping me.

I shook my head and the wolf stopped. It looked back at me and nodded its head towards its back. I looked at it in confusion and to its back. It nodded again and I shrugged my shoulders as I lifted my leg over unsuccessfully as it was the same height as me. It kneeled down so that I could haul myself onto its back like a horse.

It stood back up and looked back at me in assurance before I nodded my head and it walked down the stairs.
