"Do you trust me?" He asked me, extending his hand towards me. I stared hard into his dark eyes which were now glossed over with tears. This had been the first time that I had ever seen him cry. I could tell he was scared, not just for himself but f...
The room was surprisingly comfortable, compared to the rest of the house that was held up by my long time friend it actually seemed quite modest. To me the entire room was a luxury that any single woman would dream of having. The queen bed was canopied over by a sleek darker gray curtain with bed sheets and a comforter that seemed like it was directly picked out of the Holmes & Garden Magazines. The only thing that stood out completely to me was the bay window with a dark cushion and a few decorative pillows on each corner. From here I could see the rain pouring down and making water veins along the glass. The darkness from the outside leaking into the room like flood waters. I dropped my duffle bag on the floor, a gloominess taking over all senses as I became memorized by the falling crystals. It was all over now. My friendship with Jazzy and Peter, my criminal lifestyle, my life in my small apartment. I couldn't say I didn't miss it, after all that life was all I had ever known. I guess things were meant to change, nothing was ever meant to stay.
I inhaled a sharp but slow breath and exhaled shakily. I began to unload all of my stuff which had just been a few outfits and a few expensive things like my iPod and of course all of my money. The day seemed to pass by quickly, and it wasn't long before Ren brought me dinner. He didn't really bother to pry into my feelings, I think he knew that I didn't really want to talk yet. Instead he just dropped off the food and tussled my hair. After he left, I picked at my food, with too much on my mind to even want to eat. I decided to stay confined to my room for the rest of the night, organizing things and planning. I didn't really want to face Ren or anyone else for right now. Not when all I wanted to do was sleep.

Where was she? He lost her scent, she should have been at the hospital. Her injuries were too bad for her to have been discharged already. He stood in the open living room of her apartment, her scent was all around him, however they were old scent trails. The one he had followed led him straight here; such a reckless decision was her M.O. She had definitely put herself in more danger by coming here, he can smell the Hunter's scent. It was fresh, maybe they had caught her? A sudden creaking of the floor boards sounded loudly; a heavy mixture of scents floated in the air. He bared his teeth and stifled a deep growl that had begun to rise from deep within his chest. He had to hide and quick. This girl was definitely becoming more than she was worth.
The window was open, and he quickly rushed over to it. He widened it a little so he could squeeze through. His hands gripped the sill like a rock climber would grip a shallow hole in a rock wall and hung there. His muscles tensed as he clung, rain pounded harshly on to him. His grip would start to slip if he clung to long. He blocked out the sound of the rain; his ears straining to hear for the intruders.
"Peter I'm serious, the woman I work with described her perfectly." A female voice sounded defensive.
"Jazzy, she's dead OK? We killed her, there's no possible way she could come back. Maybe someone tried to commit suicide then thought twice about it?" The man named Peter tried to reassure her. The hanging man smiled, little did they know that he had saved her and threw her onto the dock. Though, it was just pure luck that someone had driven by and had picked her up. The rest of the conversation dulled as they hushed their voices, though he could tell the girl was getting upset. She stormed out of the room, her feet falling heavy against the floor. Peter cussed and followed her.
He wasted no time in pulling himself up and climbed into the room. Once again he was surrounded by her scent and he tried his hardest to find her new trail. Most of what he smelled was old but then he finally caught wind of something new, something that hit him like a ton of bricks. It was so fresh for a moment he actually felt like he was part of the pack again. Forest and lavender filled his lungs and it was leading him to her bedroom. He walked in, pushing the slightly closed door open more and scanned the room. He smelled the scent of water, like the smell of the lake. She had definitely been here. He began searching around the room, rummaging through her things. He noted the drawer filled with many cell phones, particularly one that he noticed she had always had and a note from her land lord. She was being evicted apparently. He picked up her phones, all of which were already activated. He began searching through them, looking for some sort of recurring number. He was at this for a while, at least an hour before he finally found one.
"Bingo." He mused, his features darkening.
Ren (favor) Carter
She's so stupid. He thought, gathering her old phone and stuffing it in his pocket. She didn't have a car so she must have used a taxi. He exited the apartment, his muscles sore from carrying his weight as he clung to the window sill. He had to shake it off, he had business to conduct, and this business would take a while.
