Ty stepped out of the shower, the freshly fluffed black towel wrapped gingerly around his waist. The chiseled muscles of his body rippling as he raised his hands; fingers combing through his thick and drenched hair. Music blasted through his blue-tooth speaker, making him shift his weight as he danced with it. Sucker For Pain was one of his favorites, it reminded him of fighting with his old pack. Something he missed but had gotten over for the most part. He sniffed his arm, recoiling back with a frustrated groan. He'd scrubbed his skin raw and her scent still lingered on him. The wolf in him was pacing in agitation and excitement.

Mate. It snarled at him from the depths. He shook his head, wetting his toothbrush before dabbing a pea-sized drop of toothpaste onto it and placing it in his mouth. He scrubbed diligently, telling himself that there was no way he had a mate. Especially not one that was human. His wolf disagreed but fell silent, a treat he rarely got anymore. He hadn't really read up on this girl, he didn't feel he had to. She might have been trouble but certainly not that much trouble. He winced as he checked the clock, he had a few errands to run. Could he leave her here? His brows furrowed, he spat out the foam collecting in his mouth. Minty freshness lingered, making him feel better, but it wasn't enough to drown out the smell of her. He'd never smelled anything more tantalizing than her, but that didn't stop him from getting flustered. Her scent was all over his house and try as he might it just wouldn't go away. His cell phone rang, cutting off his music.

He growled and answered. "What?!"

"It's a go, but only for a few days." His friend Benny confirmed. He had a kind of New Jersey accent that Ty loved to make fun of.

"Thank you, Ben. That's all I'll need."

"Ty I'm not joking, I'm really stickin' my neck out here for ya, alright?"

"I got it, I got it. Trust me."

Benny hung up the phone and Ty followed suit. Benny wasn't lying when he said he was sticking his neck out. Richard wasn't known to be a merciful alpha, and it didn't help that Richard and Ty clashed whenever they met. The only thing that stopped Ty from fighting was that he had no desire to become alpha. He didn't think he could take that kind of responsibility, besides he liked it better amongst the ranks where he could get his hands dirty. He smirked at the thought of biting into Hannah, hearing her scream and tasting her blood. A shiver ran down his spine as he thought of her returning the favor, marking him as her—

"Down, boy!" He commanded. Those thoughts were the wolf's, that he knew. They'd come from out of nowhere, his wolf had been known to be sneaky. He was almost taken in until he felt his wolf turn smug. He couldn't help but praise his effort. He didn't bother putting his boxer-briefs on, all he did was bounce into his jeans and zipped and secured it with a black leather belt. He reached into his drawer, pulling out an eggshell colored shirt. It had a wolf printed on it and an Indian chief next to it. It was his favorite shirt and he debated on wearing it before he heard the sound of the front door slamming shut. He was up in an instant, his favorite t-shirt discarded and abandoned as he sprinted down his stairs. Her scent was fresh, too fresh for his liking. He peeked through the folds of the blinds, seeing her making a break for the tree lines. A feral growl bubbled up in his chest, a curse spewing out of his mouth. He sprinted, throwing himself out of the door and shifting in mid air. His bones were made for this, though there was still some shifting and cracking as he landed on all four big, brown and black spotted fur covered paws. His claws dug into the earth, kicking up debris behind him. His ears folded flat against his head as he pushed forward, following her scent and her silhouette as she ran ahead of him. Her screams filled the air, desperation milking from the melodic notes. The fur on his tail bushed up in response.

Find her, find her, FIND HER!

His wolf urged, its wild voice frantic. He could see her checking behind her, watching to see if he was following her. She wasn't looking down at him, in fact she seemed to not even notice him in his wolf form. She stopped abruptly, making him duck behind a thicket. He watched her carefully as she turned around and scanned the area, never knowing if she was going to be caught—or even that she already was.

I collapsed to my knees, my hands balling up into tight fists in front of me, my knuckles sinking further into the dirt. I felt my body tremble, my breaths coming out into shaky pants, my eyes burned as tears sprung to life. I could have sworn that I heard the door crashing open behind me and yet I don't see him pursuing me. Maybe he lost interest? It was a hopeful thought but I knew it was an incorrect one. After what he said to me in the college I doubt he'd stop chasing me just like this. Rage began to boil inside me and I bared my teeth as I growled.

"Come on! Don't fucking toy with me, I know you are out there!" I yelled out. Hot tears rolled down my cheek, betraying my tough exterior. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't terrified. I stopped a sob from escaping by clamping my mouth shut, but that didn't stop my body from aching. It was as if something was swirling inside me and it burned. It burned so bad that it felt like I was going to combust, the pressure inside me felt like too much. It felt like it was expanding me. I felt a cold shiver travel down my spine, the air felt more chilled than usual. Strange, because sweat beaded on my forehead. I felt so weak that all I could do was just lean on my fists and rock back and forth.

That's when the first wave hit. It hit me like a freight train tearing through my body. My ribs began to crack, my arms and legs burning with a dull ache and my jaw and teeth felt as if they were being torn out.

"Nnahh!" I let the scream rip from me as my muscles constricted. The bones in my fingers began to contort and break. I watched them in sheer horror. Oh god, what was happening to me? I hear a rustle in the bushes as a shirtless Ty emerged, staring at me. His muscles rippled as if they were setting back into place and he rolled his shoulders while cracking his neck. My eyes widened, the wave of pain seeming to back off only slightly. I gasped, backing away swiftly, my back hitting a tree roughly. He held his hands out, his expression only showing more confusion.

"What's happening to me?"
