The next morning the sunlight beamed through the window, stirring me awake. I looked over to Eric to find him awake, smiling at me.
I jumped up and wrapped my arms around his shoulders.
"Oh thank god. You're awake!" My excitement got the better of me as I squeezed him tight.
He laughed weakly and put his arms around my waist. The feeling make my stomach spin. I was just happy to have him here with me, alive. A week ago I wasn't so sure we would make it to this point but now I just can't stop smiling.
He pulls back from me and looks around the room.
"Where are we?"
"Amity." I reply, my smile still beaming. "My family kind of welcomed us back here and have been working on healing you"
Eric looked back at me.
"Your family?"
I nodded.
He sighed. I guess family like mine wasn't something he was used to with all the history of what had happened with his own.
"Anyway," I thought a subject change was definitely needed. "There's some clothes ready for you here."
Eric's face fell when he saw the pile of red and orange clothes.
"Amity colors? Really?""Well now don't you think black would stand out a little too much here among the fields and farming?"
I laughed slightly at his expression. He looked like the Eric I knew again. Funny, handsome, strong but fragile. Especially at this moment. Everything he had known since he was a child was changing. And we needed to change with it.I got up as he swung his legs over the side of the bed, steadying himself before rising to his feet. As he stood he stumbled slightly and I stepped next to him, helping him regain his balance.
He looked down at me, his eyes looking at me deeply as his hand raised and rested gently on my cheek, his thumb lightly caressing my skin.
I looked up at him as his face moved closer to mine, his soft lips pressing against mine, his tongue carefully parting my lips to run over my own. I closed my eyes, feeling myself melt into him. His touch danced across my skin, like electricity, making every nerve aware of his presence.
"You are without a doubt the best thing that has ever happened to me little one" He broke the kiss to speak.
I smiled and recalled the Eric I once knew, who scared and intimidated. This was someone entirely different, but I loved him just the same.
"I feel the same way" I replied before he smothered me with his touch again, this time lifting me onto the bed and pushing me back as he climbed on top of my body.
His hands held my wrists above my head in a domineering manner that reminded me of his past ways. My breathing became heavier as his lips moved slowly across my cheek to my neck, trailing soft kisses along my collar bone.It had been too long since I had felt this close to Eric, this....intimate.
His hand ran down my body as if he were learning all of my curves all over again. My hands reached for his exposed back, my nails digging into the skin, maybe a little harder than I should but I didn't care. I needed him.
His muscles flexed as his hands moved to pull my dress over my head in one silk like motion. I stared into his eyes before taking his face in my hands and pulling him towards me again.
His body heat covered me like a blanket as he began to remove what little clothing was left, kissing down my collar bone again, getting lower down chest, pausing at the important spots. His attentiveness made my body tingle, his kisses getting lower and lower before he pulled me over on top of him, wrapping his arms around me.******
I laid in Eric's embrace as he traced soft patterns on my back with his forefinger as I nestled into the crook of his neck. I breathed him in, sighing slightly. I felt completely weightless. A week ago I would never have thought we could be here and feel so relaxed.
"I guess we should get up" I said, kissing Eric's cheek and sitting up."Mmmm do we have to?" He mumbled, pulling me back again. I giggled and nodded, getting out from beneath the sheets, pulling back on my clothes.
Eric smiled at me from across the room and I threw his clothes at him.
"Quit staring - pervert" I laughed. We stepped out into the sunshine and the warmth felt incredible. I spotted my mother sitting with Lu and Kayleen and she looked up as we emerged. She instantly got up and ran over to us, pulling Eric into what looked to be the most awkward hug I've ever seen. I stifled a giggle as Eric looked at me for help before smiling and placing an arm round my short mom.
"Mom, put him down" I laughed.
"I'm just very happy for you that's all."I smiled as she finally let him go. For such a small lady she was incredibly strong. We walked towards the benches, we sat and ate and talked for hours and enjoyed each others company and no one, not one of us, brought up the horrors we had witnessed and endured at the hands of Jeanine and Frey.
Everyone was peaceful until from the trees at the edge of the clearing came shouting. I recognised the voice and my guess was correct as Four suddenly fell onto the grass, seemingly pushed by someone behind him.
I looked up at Eric who was already on his feet, prepared.
The culprit stepped into the clearing.
Max.
