"Take a deep breath." I said to no one in particular, listening to the ginormous titan as crawled its way slowly towards us. I tightened my grip on Historia's hand, Eren growing restless. My heart pounds against my chest, but, I have nothing to fear. I am not alone. "Rod Reiss halt your advances." I said, my own voice making me jump. Something inside of me is stirring and I can feel it. The ground has stopped shaking and Historia's breath stopped. "You know nothing of titans. You are a fool for believing that you were bright enough to have solved humanities problems. I cannot let you pass here, I won't." The titan yelled at me, Eren roaring back at him. I opened my eyes and could tell that they were glowing. I could tell that my whole body is radiating an azure light. I chanted the spell that I remembered and watched as the titan began to glow blue from the inside out. It couldn't move and it screamed as if in agony. I chanted faster, the light growing stronger and brighter. "Eren now!" I yelled, me letting Historia go and throwing my hands forwards. Eren grabbed the ammo we had brought down and shoved it into the titan's mouth, Historia grappling onto the titan and soaring up, going for the kill as soon as it exploded. I was able to keep the monster at bay and keep it's heat from burning her as she plunged downwards. Eren grabbed hold of me and then reached for Historia as soon as we saw the blood spurt from the neck. We'd done it and we have to move quick as I am growing tired. Once he had us both, he managed to run with us and get us out of dodge. My chanting slowed and then stopped completly. I slumped against Eren's hand, the boy taking us back to the wall . . . thank goodness this worked too . . . I had no back up plan.
"It hasn't gone back to normal." Mikasa said, everyone staring at me at this point. My eyes are apparently still glowing blue, they're worried about it. "I think it will just ware off. Don't worry about it too much." I said, this being a guess. "It's pretty~!" Sasha exclaimed, me sitting at the head of the table with Erwin and Levi. Historia has been taken straight to the interior, Darius will take care of her. Her coronation will be set to be soon, the towns people seem to have accepted her with open arms. They thanked her for saving them from the titan. She insisted that it was mostly me though, which I denied. I have enough attention as it is. "At least her glowing has stopped. That really freaked me out." Eren said, me brushing some hair out of my face before looking to Levi who is staring at me with a frustrated kind of look. "What?" I asked, frowning back at him. "So tell us what you know. I don't understand." He said, his facial features relaxing as Erwin told him to calm down. Erwin has always been able to control Levi better than I ever could. Something about their past together probably. "Well . . . where you guys unchained us from, in that underground cavern . . . Many of Eren and my memories were re-surfaced. The most important one being that I am the last standing Titan Tamer." All slight conversation at the table went dead quiet, everyone listening to me now. "Titan Tamer?" Armin asked, me nodding. "My parents used to tell me stories when I was a kid. The Ebony Flame, being the legacy of my father and then the Titan Tamer which was the legacy of my mother. My mothers family were all Titan Tamers, they were able to control the titan shifters specifically. From what I remember, her family was wiped out by some titans a long time ago and she was the lone survivor. She was adopted by another family and kept her power a secret . . . that is until she met my father." "So you're the only one left now . . . " Jean said, this being true. "As far as we know, yes. I want to go back to the house . . Grab some of the books. I know there is information we can use in there. My mother never let me go to them and for good reason." "Then we'll go too." Erwin said, me shaking my head automatically. "You all have things to deal with here! What with Historia's coronation and . . ." "This is more important to future plans. I will speak with Historia myself on this plan." Erwin assured me. I let out a small sigh, Levi taking my hand from under the table and giving it a gentle squeeze. It seems that I won't be able to stop them from coming with me . . .
"It's nice going at this pace." I commented, the horses just walking. We are in no rush to get home. Historia is giving us a week and a half outside the walls to gather what we need . . . and then she'll need us back with her. I am able to actually open my eyes at this pace and not hold onto Levi so tightly. "Historia was being generous." Mikasa said, her riding along beside the wagon that Connie is driving. "I haven't been this far out from the interior before." Erwin said, me thinking that we will be another two days until we reach our destination, at this pace anyways. If we ran the horses, we'd be there by early tomorrow morning if we rode all night. "I think you'll like it out there Erwin." I told him, Armin excited that we get to go see the ocean again. "Now I will have seen both of my pupils homes." Erwin said happily, it being nice to see him relaxed for the first time in a while. "Don't be that excited." Levi commented, me knowing he doesn't take much pride in where he comes from. I don't blame him either. I've been down there with Erwin once before and I didn't like it at all. "Levi was much more of a brat than you were, did you know that Aoi?" Erwin said, striking up conversation with me. Zoe and Jeremiah came closer too, the five of us being the last four from the original group. "I was nowhere near as bad!" Levi exclaimed, me laughing. "Erwin told me you tried to kill him when you met. At least all I did was punch you flat on your ass." I said, Levi grumbling that he fell because he lost his footing. "You were more cocky than her." Zoe noted, me hugging Levi around the middle. "It sounds like I was a much better newb." "Not in the slightest. You were the shitty little brat who ran away all the time." "Technically it wasn't running away. We always came back." Jeremiah said, Levi glaring over at him. "Not by choice." "You guys didn't get along well when you first met did you?" Jean asked, Erwin laughing at this. "Not in the slightest." "They get along so well now, you'd never guess that." Armin added, Eren humming. "When Aoi first came to us, she was actually pretty docile." Zoe said, "That's only because he kept her in check." Levi said, motioning to Jeremiah. "Very true." I agreed, knowing that I had to hold back on my reactions to certain things. I didn't want to put Jeremiah in trouble at all. "As soon as she got into my team, she rose havoc." "You didn't mind that much." I laughed, knowing that two old friends of his from the underground also caused lots of trouble for him. "I've been meaning to ask you something, Aoi." Erwin said, coming closer with his horse. "What?" I asked, Levi looking at Erwin with a curious eye as he reached out to us. "What's this?" Our leader took my hand and held it up so that the others could see. "A RING?!" Jean and Eren exclaimed, Zoe screaming her head off. "OH MY GOD! WHAT HAND IS IT ON?!" Armin exclaimed, me slightly glaring at Erwin. He's made a scene on purpose. "It's an engagement ring, what of it?" Levi said, turning the horses to head in a different direction. "When?! What?! When!? How?!" Zoe demanded, me laughing at her confusion. "Before the whole Historia operation and he was the one who asked. Got down on one knee and everything." I said with a smile, cuddling Levi closer. "I wish I was there to see it." Erwin sighed, the younger scouts asking why. "Because it will be the only time the strongest man in humanity gets on his knees for someone." "Do you want to fight?" Levi asked, stopping the horses to take a break. He hopped down first and then helped me down, grabbing me around the waist and waiting for my legs to start working again. "I'm happy for you." Mikasa said, coming over and hugging me. I hugged her back tightly, Levi stepping away and letting us have a moment. "I wish it was me, but I know you're happy." Eren said, sneaking a hug in too. "Aoi~ Invite us to the wedding." Armin sobbed, tears and snot coming out from everywhere. "We have a date set. You'll be invited Arlet." Levi said, me looking over to him with an obviously surprised expression. "We do?" I asked, Jean coming over to hug me along with the other young ones. "When we get back. Historia is already planning back home and getting a dress prepared and . . ." "Really?!" I exclaimed, cutting him off. "Yes." He sighed, me practically jumping up and down in excitement. "I want our team to be in the wedding party then!" I said, looking to Mikasa, Sasha and Zoe who are all also now screaming in excitement. "I regret telling you this now." Levi sighed, Erwin clapping him on the shoulder. "Congratulations." He said, the male scouts running over and hugging him, Levi trying to push them off. I accepted the girls hugs happily, me thinking that this will be a good couple of days.
