I sat above on the roof of a building, watching Eren, Mikasa and Armin from afar. It seems that the situation is going to soon get out of hand if someone doesn't stop it. . . Eren had protected Mikasa and Armin from the Garrison guards, by half transforming into a titan. After a few minutes, Armin had come out and poured his heart out, trying to protect his friend; but this did not get through to General Kitz. That man's fear is overrunning his sense of reasoning; he is exactly the type of person who should not have become a leader. "Azure." I looked up and found Dot Pyxis looking down at me with a steady gaze. "So you did come. I thought as much." I told him, standing up and following him. "Why have you not interfered?" He asked, steering me in the direction of the Guarrison. "Kitz would not have listened to me." The man laughed. "You start before me. I will intervene if needed." I sighed, he is still testing me. I ran ahead, grabbing Kitz's arm as it began to raise to signal the cannons to fire. "Cut it out. You haven't changed. As big as an oaf but with the spirit of a fawn." I said, pulling his hand back down to his side. "Good, you still have quite a mouth on you." Pyxis praised, stepping up to flank my side. "Commander Pyxis! Captain Shadow!" Many of the Guarrison guards exclaimed. "Do you not see that boys salute? I just arrived, but the situation has already been relayed to me. You go organize the renforcements. I think it would be worthwhile to hear what they have to say." Pyxis said to Kitz. "Bring those three up onto the wall. We will talk there." I nodded and hopped down a few steps, patting the crying Armin's head then over to Eren. "You need to come with me now. Please refrain from saying anything unless Pyxis orders you to." I told him, giving him a hand up. "Aoi. What will happen to Eren?" Mikasa asked me, worried for him. "I am sorry Mikasa. For now, I believe that Pyxis will use Eren to his advantage, but that man has always been a wild card. Please trust me for now. I will not let any of you get hurt." She grew quiet, knowing that now was not the time to argue with me. Mikasa loves Eren very much and I know how much this situation is stressing her out; but right now, everyone has to be calm. The district of Trost is in our hands now.
"I see. So you believe that basement holds the answers you seek?" Pyxis asked curiously, looking out to the village. Eren's story is believable, however, how many will see it as the truth is slim. "Yes. . . Sir will you believe me?" Eren asked. "Since even you yourself can't say for sure, let's just say I will keep it in mind for now. However, you can show your true intentions by your actions right now, I will guarantee your safety." The three cadets sighed in relief. "Cadet Arlet was it?" "Yes, sir!" Armin exclaimed, as Pyxis turned to look at them. "You said earlier that using this 'titan power' we might be able to retake the city? Do you really believe that, or were you just desperate to stay alive?" "It was. . . both sir! I was trying to say that Eren could take on his titan form, carry that boulder to the wall and block the gap in the gate. The thought just occured to me. . . But couldn't you look at Eren's power as a chance to turn this situation in our favor?" Pyxis turned to look at the city again; I am sure it is devastating to see this city start to turn to rubble. Pyxis is an officer that strives to save humanity, that will do anything to acheive his goal. "Of course, I was also desperate to save our lives. . ." Pyxis thought for a moment then muttered. "Desperate to save. . ." Those words are worth more than anything." I stood and moved to Eren's side, resting my hand on his head. It seems like they have convinced him. "What?" Eren asked me, while he watched the officer take a swig from his flask. "Nothing." I replied, letting my hand fall to its side as Pyxis came over, crouching in front of Eren. "What do you say, Cadet Jeager?" "Sir?" "Can you close the gap?" Eren looked up at me and I gave him an encouraging smile; I will suport him with whatever decision he makes. "I. . . I. . . I'm not sure. I don't understand this better than any of you do. It'd be irresponsible of me to answer as if I knew it either way." "Oh right, sorry I asked the wrong question. . ." Pyxis said in an embarassed tone; though I knew that it actually wasn't one. "Will you do it or not? Which is it?" Eren looked out past the wall, out into the city; taking a few moments to think. His eyes told me immediately what his thoughts were before he even uttered a word. "I will do it! I'm not certain if I can close the gap, but I will do it!" "Then stand soldier and show this nation what you can do." I said, holding my hand out to him. Eren grasped it tightly and stood up, looking down at me with his teal eyes. He might not believe that he can do it, but I know he can.
