Chapter Two - History repeating itself

-Year 850-

We've been out here for a few days now. Erwin is planning an attack but honestly, I just want to go home. It has been nearly three years since I first reunited with Eren, Mikasa and Armin. I pop by once and awhile to help them train, but I am mostly with the Scout legion. I knew I couldn't put off my job to stay at the training camp with them, but I am thankful that Levi and Erwin let me stay behind every so often. "You look like you are thinking too hard." Levi said, coming up to me on horseback. I looked up at him and frowned; he knows how much I hate horses. I get really sick when I ride one, therefore, I always have to ride with Levi. We've tried countless times to get me on a horse with someone else, but it seems that I can only keep myself together when with Levi. He didn't complain when he was told that he had to pair up with me, as we already work well together. I don't get in his way either, which helps him immensly. "I was just thinking 104th trainees will be graduating soon. It's nostalgic to think about." "You didn't even graduate with your class." Levi said, looking out to the forest beyond the pastures. "That's true, but you guys gave me a warm welcome, which is more that I could have asked for." "They didn't treat you well." This was not a question, but rather, a statement. I rubbed absently at the scars on my wrists, my training regement was not a nice place. Pyxis told them to push me hard and due to this, they ended up hurting me. I had refused for a good half of my training year; the scars they gave me is from the diciplinary mesures they thought I deserved. . .

"The forest! They're here!" Mike yelled from his position. "All hands, on alert!" Erwin's loud commanding voice yelled over the running and clanging of equiptment. "Erwin! I am going on ahead!" Zoe yelled, running out into the forest by herself. She has been begging those in charge to begin taking titans in to study them, but they declined her; saying that we cannot afford to lose men to something that does not guareentee sucess. "Levi, Aoi." Erwin said to us. "Stupid." Levi muttered, holding his hand down to me. I grabbed it and let him haul me up onto the horse. I wrapped my arms around his middle tightly and closed my eyes, hiding my face in his back. If I look at the scenery passing us by, I will get sick for sure. I heard more hooves hitting the ground around us, Levi's group must be with us as well. "Hang on." Levi said as he turned the horse around. "What's with that moron? Going back home?"Oluo demanded. "Something is odd, even if it is abnormal." Petra said, her voice strong. "Yeah, it's different than anything that has been reported so far" Eld agreed. "No we don't call them abnormals because they are unlike the others." Gunther added. I squeezed Levi tighter as the terrain changed, rockier than before. "I got it!" Oluo yelled, obviously going to kill the titan. "No wait!" Zoe yelled to him. "What?" The stupid man must have hesitated because now all I can hear is his screaming. "Get him." Levi said as I felt him propell off the horse. Due to the fact that I was holding onto him, I got pulled with him. I opened my eyes as we were now in the air and pulled out my blade as Levi cut the titan's hand off. I swung around back and got a clean cut at the back of its neck. I landed beside Levi in a crouched position, he who is wiping the blood off his hand. "Are you alright?" He asked Oluo. "Corporal. . . I'll follow you forever." He said, his nose and eyes dripping. "No! He could have been a perfect test subject! We could have been one step closer to saving humanity!" Zoe yelled. I could tell this got on Levi's nerves as he strode over, taking her by the front. "Shut up, shit - glasses! If you want to end up as titan feces I won't stop you. But don't endanger your comerades!" I stood and replaced my blades in their spots, Zoe is not scared of Levi. "Titan's dont defecate. They don't have a digestive system, after all." I laughed at this and then walked towards the large tree that sat in the middle of this open field. It was quickly that my laughter died down, there is a body inside the tree. . . Did a titan do this? "The armband of the thirty fourth expedition. A soldier who died a year ago, name is. . ." Zoe said, coming up to the tree, peering into the hole. "Lise Lagner" "Move your foot." Levi said to me; already crouched down by my foot. I moved it as he told me to and peered over his shoulder as he stood and read through the journal.
