Chapter Eighteen - It's on

I squinted as light streamed into our bedroom. I had been sleeping under Levi's arm and when he moved, the light got in my way. I groaned and sat myself up, looking around at the room and wondering how we were ever so lucky to have somewhere like this to spend the night. It's in the castle and is probably the most extravagant room I have every been blessed to sleep in. It is unfortunate that we will be back at it soon... We have a lot more preparations to do and this lounging about... Isn't an option for us. 

"What are you doing?" Levi's grumbly voice asked, me looking down to him. One of his eyes are partially cracked open and his arm blocks the sun that is in his face. 

"I was just thinking." I replied, him pulling me back to lie down. 

"We have to get up though." I sighed, lying back down anyways and letting me pull me to his body and wrap his arms around me tightly. 

"Just a few more minutes won't kill anyone. We're just doing weaponry preparations today anyhow." He murmured, me gently tracing the marks that I left on his pale skin. 

"I wish that sometimes... We should just stay this way. Forever you know?" 

"I know." He agreed, "But we are soldiers. You know where our duty lies." 

"A girl can only dream." We both laughed at that, most of our fantasies about each other probably being very far from becoming true. But, as long as I have Levi at my side... I feel like I can do anything. "Can we come to an agreement on something?" I asked, drawing circles into his chest. 

"Depends." He said, smiling slightly. 

"When out on the field... We have to make sure to watch out for each other." Levi rolled me over so that I am resting on top of him, me holding my head back to look at him. 

"I remember a time when we said we wouldn't make things personal on the field, but I can make an exception for you. Also, are we changing your last name to mine?" He asked, the two of us having not discussed this much. 

"I would like to be an Akerman yes." I agreed, me pressing my lips to his. He smiled and kissed me back with such fever that it made me breathless. We didn't get too far though, as the door opened. Levi flipped me to his far side and I sunk down a little, me being naked. 

"Levi. Aoi." Erwin said, me poking my head out a little to look at him. "Sorry to interrupt." He said with a father like smile. 

"What do you want?" Levi asked, slightly annoyed that we were interrupted.  

"We have some work to get done... I know that you are newly weds but..." 

"We understand. We'll be ready in a few minutes." I said, Levi grumbling complaints as Erwin shut the door so we can get up and get dressed. I chuckled slightly and pulled Levi's arm slightly. He looked at me and I mouthed at him to make it quick. He got what I meant and rolled on top of me, taking my lips as his again.

"In other words, Eren's father Grisha Yeager has a high probability of being..." 

"Someone that came from beyond the walls." Zoe finished for Erwin. "Indeed he possessed the power of a titan, just like Annie, Reiner and Bertolt. However, unlike them, he allied himself with humans within the walls." I leaned back in my chair, resting my head on Levi's shoulder. We are all currently sitting in Erwin's office, talking about our next moves. We do indeed have lots to talk about. I know some of the others had gone to talk to Keith last night... and brought back some interesting information about Eren and his father. 

"Listening to his interest in the Survey corps, I wished he would have helped even more." One of the men in our small circle said. 

"For the exceedingly knowlegable Greisha-San, maybe something was even known of the truth of the thoughts passed down through the Reiss family. In which case, he didn't spread that information. Such that he wouldn't get found out by the royal government. However, the moment wall maria was breached, he went straight to the Reiss estate, the true form of the royal government and that act of madness took place. In all likely hood, he had been searching out the royal government on his own after entering the walls. This isn't something that could have been accomplished without tremendous willpower and determination. Such a father told his ten year old son who wanted to join the corps that he wanted to show him the basement room of their house. A room that with his dying breath he said held the key to everything... Just what do you think is there?"
