Titan Tamer [Attack on Titan]

Prologue

-Year 844-

"Are we there yet?" I asked, my feet shuffling against the grassy field. "Just a little farther Aoi." Papa replied, shuffling Oka - San's weight on his back. He has told me this sentence at least a dozen times in the last few days, even if I didn't ask him. However, I know that we must be getting closer. We've been walking for five days straight now, without taking too much of a break, in fear that the titans would get us. There was an incident two days ago, where a titan caught up to us. Papa killed it with his weapon, but Oka - San hit her head falling over a tree root, whereas, I have a large gash in my arm from tripping along with her. I have never seen a titan before, my first one was five days ago, when it destroyed our house. It had smiled as if enjoying itself. It's big lips pulled back behind its teeth as it stomped our house to the ground. . . Papa says he knows a place where we will be safe, it goes by the name wall Maria. He says a lot of people live on the interior of the wall, thousands and thousands of people. I've never met any other people, other than Papa and Oka - San, I wonder what they will be like? "Look Aoi. There it is." Papa said as we mounted over a small hill. My eyes widened as we marched forwards, he wasn't lying when he said it was a big wall. I don't think that big smiling titan would be able to climb this wall. "We're here?" Oka - San asked weakly, lifting her head a little so that she could see the wall that is now getting closer. I could see small little people at the top of the wall and I think they have spotted us. Many more specks appeared, looking out at us. "Yes, we will be in safety's arm soon." Papa said gently to her. I removed my hand from my gash and moved it to hold her dangling hand. Oka - San has been worrying about the baby. My brother Yukino is still in her. . .

A figure suddenly appeared in front of us. I screamed and hid behind Papa, my fingers shaking uneasily. "Who are you?" A man's voice asked. It sounded tense but his vocals did not sound threatening. "My name is Jason Hunt. My wife and daughter are injured, we got attacked by a Titan at our home." Papa explained to the man. "Your home? Are you saying you live on the exterior?" The man asked, surprise now in his voice. Papa nodded then used one of his hands to bring me to his side. "Please, my family needs medical assistance." "Yukino is inside Oka - San, you have to help him." I pleaded in suit with Papa. The man with blond hair looked down at me for the first time and then bent down on one knee to address me. "What is your name?" "Aoi Hunt." I replied, not scared of him anymore. "Who is Yukino?" "My baby brother. He's not born yet." The man smiled at me and then waved his hand in some kind of a signal. "My name is Hannes. Are you hurt anywhere?" I nodded then showed him my arm. "She has a fever as well. I think the wound is infected." Papa said to Hannes. Two more men came down the wall and looked at us all with puzzled expressions. "We'll take you to doctor Yeager. He'll fix you right up." Hannes said to me as he offered me his hand. I looked over at Papa who is letting this other man take Oka - San from off his back. He caught me looking at him then picked me up, handing me to Hannes. "Don't worry Aoi. They are just going to take us up and over the wall." Papa said, soothing my anxiety instantly. "Hold on tight, okay Aoi? We're going to take your family to the doctors quick." I nodded and held onto Hannes, gripping his jacket with my fists. "Alright. Here we go." One of the other men said as a loud click went off, a long cable escaping the gear around his waist. He soared up with Papa, Oka - San along behind him with another man. Hannes grip on me suddenly tightened as his feet left the ground. I let out a squeal as we flew up the wall at an incredible speed. I felt like a bird, as we passed the top of the wall. I could see everything from this height, the mountain, the fields the towns. Hannes and the two other men did not stop us at the top of the wall, but rather continued down past it; running across the rooftops of the buildings. I couldn't believe their strength and endurance, they remind me of Papa when he was fighting the titans.

Hannes came to a smooth stop on front of a home. The other two men with the rest of my family were there waiting for us. "How was that?" Hannes asked me. I coughed but gave him a smile when the spasms stopped. "I felt like I was flying." I told him. I noticed the people passing by, staring at us with curiosity. I wonder what they want? "Hey Yeager." One of the men said as he went into the house, not bothering to knock first. "Oh dear." A woman's voice said, as everyone came into the house. "Carla, is your husband around? We got a kid and a woman who need help." One man said. "Eren, run and get your father. Bring them in here." The woman named Carla ordered. Hannes put me down in a bed, smaller then the one Oka - San is in, but they are not too far apart from each other. I heard Oka - San groan and I immediately went to sit up, but Hannes pushed me back down gently. "Stay out for a little bit sweetie. Your mom is in good hands." I nodded, even though I wanted to so desperatly push past him to see her. "He's here." A man said as the door swung open. "Eren, where is Misaka?" Carla asked. "She's shopping like you asked her to." A younger voice replied. "Can you please make sure Aoi drinks all of this. Don't let her fall asleep. I will be with her in a minute." Footsteps proceeded to make their way over to me. "Can you sit up?" The same small voice asked. I pressed my lips together and hauled my aching body into a seated position. I rolled my eyes over to stare at a boy who has climbed up to sit beside me. He looks about my age, light brown hair grows from his head and his teal eyes stare into mine. "Here." He said as he held something up to my mouth. I looked down at it and took a sip as he had been kind enough to offer it to me. I pulled back after tasting it, it was not water. "You have to drink more. Just a little bit." He said to me, tipping the cup forwards. I drank what I could but ended up sputtering up some. "Eren, be more gentle." Carla called to him. The boy sighed then rested the cup on his lap. "What's your name?" He asked. "Aoi Hunt." I replied hoarsly. "Why do you have blue eyes?" I wanted to ask him why he has teal eyes, but kept my mouth shut. "Papa is Brittish and Oka - San is Japanese. I got the eyes from Papa. What is your name?" "Eren Yeager. Do you live somewhere around here?" I shook my head then looked down at my hands. "I lived outside the wall, but some titan crushed our home." His eyes widened and went to ask another question but a man shushed him. "Hello there Aoi. Do you mind if I look at your cut?" I hesitated but Eren motioned for me to show it. "He's my dad. He'll take good care of you." he said as he crawled over to my other side so his dad could get to me better. I held my arm out for the man who took it into his hands gently, looking at the gash. "How did you get this?" he asked, taking a wet cloth, running it over the wound. I flinched and noted quietly to myself that I can't see Papa anymore. "A titan attacked us on the way here. I fell over a root along with Oka - San. Is she going to be okay?" I asked. "She is tired, and will need a few days rest." Doctor Yeager said. I noticed that he did not say that she was going to get better. Maybe she isn't going to get better. . . Is my baby brother okay too? He said nothing about him.Papa wouldn't ever let anyone hurt Oka - San or the baby. . . My head drooped suddenly which snapped me into attention. "You must be exausted." The doctor said as he wrapped bandages around my arm. "She has a fever too." Hannes said, who is still standing by the bed. "Eren, will you stay with her?" Doctor Yeager asked his son. "Sure. You can sleep. I'll watch after you." Eren assured me as I scooted down into a horizontal position. I took his hand in mine and held it close to me and even though my mind quickly went blank, I could feel his fingers tighten around mine.
