Everlost was empty. There was no one out on the streets and it was eerily quiet.

"Where is everybody?" I spoke gently to Orion, who had come to stand beside me.

He shrugged and said, "I have no idea." his voice was calm but his eyes shifted wearily from one place to the other. "Well where do want to go now?" he asked his eyes never stopped flickering form one place to another.

"Uh... Henry's. Henry's is the way to go." and I moved int he direction of Henry's store and still no one was out and on the streets.

The door to Henry's was open and empty.

"Henry, are you here?" I called moving inside the store. It was deadly silent and Henry had still not scurried out of where ever he his in his spare time.

"Addieca no one's here. Let's go!" Orion whispered, he stood in the doorway and he made no move to step inside.

"No, not yet." I said moving towards the front counter and the door behind it (which Henry always kept locked and closed) was now opened a sliver.

"Addieca!" Orion sounded annoyed and frantic.

'Wait." I pushed something with my foot and found glass littered all over the floor. Glass? Henry wouldn't leave anything broken on the floor. Bad for business.

Creak! My head shot up just in time to see the rat faced Henry jump out at me from the room, his face bloodied and one of his eyes were hanging from his face. He wielded a rusty butcher knife in hand.

"GET OUT OF HERE! WHOSE THERE?" he screamed and glass sank deep into my foot as the knife slashed painfully across my arm. I toppled to the floor, pain searing through me and I only had a moment to catch Henry's arm before he came down on me; his next blow aimed for my face.

"GET OUT! I'LL KILL YOU!" He screamed. My heart was pounding hard against my chest and I cried out for help.

One moment Henry was on top of me, knife in hand and ready to stab me, and the next he was pulled off of me and he was pinned to the wall.

"Are you okay Addieca?" Orion asked, as he easily held Henry to the wall.

Breathing heavily, I could only nod. Wincing, I brought my foot up to me and pulled the glass from it, biting back the pain. "I'm fine."

"Addie?" Henry whispered. "Addie, is that you?" He let the knife slip from his fingers and fall to the ground.

"What happened here Henry?" I asked, fighting away the pain as I pulled myself to my feet. Henry looked distraught and bloody tears from his one good eye  that wasn't popped out of his head.

"They killed us! They killed us all!" Henry cried, falling limp in Orion's arms and he sobbed.

      "Killed us? Who killed people?"

"They did! They called themselves the Hollows! The Greys! They came in the night and killed us all!" Henry wailed and he reached up and touched his eyeball that hung down on his face before he cried harder. His crying soon led to him vomiting up a blackish-green goo.

Orion sneered at him and dropped him onto the floor. "Come on Addieca let's go. Grab some shoes, take some food and water and let's get out of here." Orion wiped his hands on his jeans and stepped over Henry.

I limped over to Henry's body and pressed my fingers to his neck to feel a faint pulse beat under my finger tip.

"We can't just leave him, he's still breathing!" and I helped Henry to his side so he wouldn't drown in his own vomit.

Orion groaned, "Look at him Addieca, he's half dead, just leave him."

If looks could kill he would have been six feet under, "You were half dead as well and I, for some reason, helped you. So you can either help me or you can stand outside."

I heard Orion swear under his breath before he stormed off through the store and I rolled my eyes at his out burst. Touchy ass isn't he.

Most of Henry's injures were around his face and after I had wiped away all the blood on his face, it took only a slight glance to know that his eye couldn't be saved.

Something soft brushed my cheek; Orion held out a wet cloth and a pair of scissors.

"Here, you can't save his eye." he said hotly. I watched him for a second before taking the cloth and scissors and said, "Thank you."

He snorted and pushed himself out the door in a huff.

I tried to be gentle when I snipped the cords that held his eye in his skull and wiped the blood from his face. But it was a hard process and it took a lot of work not hurt him ever more that he already was. I checked his breathing and pulse before I pushed myself to my feet and limped outside to find Orion sitting on one of the wooden steps.

"You should be healing yourself not that rat look-a-like." I wen to reply, to tell him he could shove it, when he grabbed my leg and spun me around till a faced him. My eyes widened and my heart beat against my chest and I thought for a second he was going to attack me, until he wrapped a cool cloth around my foot and arm.

Heat rose to my face and I went off on him, "What the hell was that?" I yelled struggling to my feet.

Orion only glanced at me before leaning back on his elbows, "What were you expecting? You can't take care of yourself and you can only care for those around you. If I hadn't have done that you would have died of infection in a week. What did you think I was going to do?"

"I thought you were going to attack me!" I yelled, my face glowing red.

He raised an eyebrow, "Attack you? Do you think so little of me, ever after I saved you?"

"I don't know you! So yes I think little of you!" My face growing the same shade of red as my hair.

"You know your face is as red and your hair." he commented and a cheeky smile slid over his face as I stomped back to where Henry was still passed out on the floor.

I sat back on my heels and looked around the store before looking back down at the rat-faced Henry. What the hell happened here Henry? I thought as I started to work on my own wounds; knowing that Orion was right and I hated that.
