I was cleaning the vomit off the floor when Orion shoved himself through the door; he was sweating and panting. He strode up to me, grabbing my arm and forcefully yanking me to my feet.
"What the hell!" I yelled, jerking my arm away from him. "What's wrong with you?"
"We have to get out of here now!" he yelled grabbing my arm again only for me to yank it away again.
"Why do we have to leave? We just got here-." Everything else I was about to say was lost to the sound of a loud boom echoing through the town and through the window I saw the building across the street was on fire.
I had only a second to process what was going on, when another building exploded, causing the windows to shatter and sending glass flying through the air.
"Addieca come on!" and Orion started to shove me out the door.
I came to my senses, "Wait, Henry!"
"Really this right now! Rat-face is dead either way! Now come on!" Orion screamed, he looked ready to pick me up and throw me over his shoulder.
"He's still breathing which means he's still alive! Please help me on this!" I screamed at him; our eyes met for a second and for a moment I thought the chaos stopped before he sneered and picked Henry up off the ground.
"There happy can we go now?" he yelled as another building exploded, shaking the whole store.
We ran to and out the door, not looking back. All around us buildings were on fire and blowing up. I heard a whistle before screaming when a building blew up on the right of me and I was thrown off my feet. I was back on my feet in a instant, ash and burning wood rained down above us as we made for a ridge that over looked Everlost; there we would be safe.
All around us was chaos, exploding buildings, fire, and thick smoke covered the sun. One of the explosions knocked me off my feet and this time I didn't get up instantly, burning embers fell on my back. When I got back to my feet, I had lost sight of Orion and the smoke was to think to see through. I spun in a full circle, looking frantically for Orion and Henry.
"Orion!" I screamed again, tears and smoke burnt my eyes.
"Addieca!" I spun around when Orion grabbed my shoulder and I wanted to cry with relief. I wanted to hug him until I noticed that Henry was no where to be found.
"Where's Henry?"
"Safe. Don't worry about that now." and before I could say another word he threw me over his shoulder. My cries of protest was drown out by the whistling and explosions.
He didn't set me down until we were away from the burning city. My feet touched the ground for a second before my knees gave way. I watched as Everlost burnt to the ground in a matter of seconds; tears weld in my eyes. Everlost became nothing more than a pile of ash.
Everlost became forever lost.
