I was hiding out in an abandon home about a mile away from where I had woken up this morning. My foot throbbed and the bandages was wet with blood. I felt horribly alone. I didn't realize that having someone who can take care of themselves around and then leave suddenly could be so lonely.
The sun was slowly being swallowed up by the earth and the air was growing cold. Where could he be? Was there people waiting for us the bottom? These were all thoughts I had asked myself as I tried to wrapping my foot tightly; the pain was nearly unbearable, black spots exploded all over my vision. I left my foot exposed to the elements, I was fading slowly. A horrible thought raced through my mind, maybe he left? Saw the danger and left; every man for himself, right? I sighed and leaned my head back against the rough wooden wall. Deep down I wouldn't blame him if he did, in this day and age survival is key. Very slowly my eyes lids grew heavy until I fell asleep.

Waking up was one of the hardest things. My foot was burning and blood was dried around the wound but closer examining it I sighed when I saw that there was no infection. With a dull thud, my head hit the wooden wall behind me; I took in a deep breath of cold, sandy air.

"You should really try not to walk on that foot of yours for a day or two." I jumped to my feet the moment I heard a low voice say from another room. I regretted standing on my foot the moment the pain raced through my body, and I slid back down the wall, chest heaving in pain.

"I told you so." Said the low voice and I was taken by surprise when an attractive with dark hair and blue eyes walked out of the room opposite of me. I forced myself to sit up higher, "Who the hell are you?" I spat, trying to force the pain away.
The boy smirked and shoved his hands into his pants pockets, "I believe that should be my question, seeing how you're the one who broke into my house." He looked me over once and said, "But I can't complain too much. It's not every day a girl crawls through my window that I don't want to shove out." And he gave me an amused look.

I sneered and drew my legs closer to me; daring him to come closer. The smile didn't leave his face, but his eyes held a type of seriousness and he moved closer, his hands held up.

"Tell you what, let's get to know one another. Hello my name's Allister Monroe and I would like to take a look at your foot because at the moment, it's not looking too good." Though he was smiling his voice was serious and eyes never left mine. My eyes narrowed and I struggled to stand; I ignored the searing pain that shot up my leg and the black spots again appeared in my vision. Allister only watched with cool amusement, his dark blue eyes didn't waver a bit. I tried hard to keep myself from blacking out; I didn't break eye contact with him. To me, he was a wild animal, stalking its prey and he wouldn't attack until I tired myself out.

"You're going to hurt yourself more, just sit down and I'll try and treat your foot." His voice was silky smooth; he took small steps in my direction. I didn't speak, I glared and took a step sideways. We were in a tense standoff; he was trying to get me while I was trying to get away from him. We had no idea who was going to make the first move.

"I'm only trying to help." He said in a comforting voice.
I snorted, "Yeah, I've heard that one before!" I tried to put at least some weight on my foot only to suck in a deep breath when white-hot pain exploded through my body.

"Yeah I'm sure you have but you haven't heard it from me. Now just take it easy!" My eyes were glued to the window I had crawled through last night; it was still wide open. My eyes flicked up to meet his and in the next moment I shot across the room as quickly as my leg would let me. Two arms wrapped around my waist and hauled me off my feet just before I could reach the window.
