Chapter 8

April's POV

"What the hell!" Natela blurted.

I scanned the pod, my mind not registering what was happening. Well well well. Natela and Delilah were right. She is a bitch!

Delilah hastily clicked off the radio and turned a map on. She didn't seem phased, just pissed. Natela and I crowded around the map and looked at the moving red dot that was our pod. This map was a lot like that old thing, what was it called? Oh yeah, google earth. But that's long gone.

"We have to tell them that Kate is a spy." I said, causing them to look up.

"Well duh, use your brain. We're not just going to go along with it." Delilah snapped.

Natela rested her hand on her shoulder as a gesture to calm down.

"I know, but it's going to be hell getting Harry to believe us," I amended.

Natela quickly made a copy of the map on et phone and opened the sliding door on the pod.

"Well, let's go find out." She sighed, taking the jump. I went next, and Delilah last.

We trekked back to where they were all waiting. Kate sent us a glare, obviously angry we didn't continue into the trap she set for us, but covered it with a smirk. I wanted to slap it off her face. Instead, I looked down at the floor, swallowing the anger that bubbled inside me. This was my first mission and I already had a mortal enemy.

"We have something to say," Natela began cautiously. "Kate is a spy for the government! We were in the pod and there was a radio. Kate told him where we girls were headed and that's why we got off. We have a resource though." Silence.

"That's bullshit Natela! Why would you girls even accuse her of that?" Harry asked, his voice raising. "I know you guys didn't like her but this is horrid of you! Back the hell off!"

"It's true! We can't help that we were right all along!" Delilah fought back.

"Delilah Kate is Harry's girlfriend! You can't just make assumptions!" Louis reprimanded.

"Don't take her side! I'm your girlfriend your supposed to believe me!"

"Not if your making stupid accusations!" Louis snorted.

"Did you just call me stupid?!?!" Delilah fumed. "Kate is a backstabbing bitch!"

"Or maybe your just jealous! We don't know!" Louis said, throwing his hands up.

"What the hell! I'm not jealous, I'm right!" Delilah yelled.

"And that's your problem! You have to be right all the time!"

"Well you are impudent and impassive!" Delilah shot. "We don't need impudence right now!"

"And we don't need your damn thoughts right now! Do something useful for once!" Louis shouted.

Delilah didn't say anything, but stepped back, stunned. Her lips parted but nothing came out. Instead she turned and walked away.

"Delilah... Get back here!" Louis growled.

"Apparently I'm no use! I get the message Louis! You know what? I'm done! For gods sake, all I do is run around and help YOU. That's all I've been doing from day one!"

Louis suddenly seemed to realized something as Delilah jogged away.

"Delilah! Come back, I didn't mean it like that! Delilah!"

I turned back to the group, and it seemed as if the Kate thing was forgotten. Everyone watched Delilah run off and Louis follow her. I turned to Harry, bewildered.

"Explain."

Harry sighed.

"It's a long story."

"We've got time on the walk to the supplies area."

Finally, he opened his mouth to speak.

"Delilah used to work for the government before she fell in love with Louis. He convinced her to join him after he saved her from a fatal bullet shot that he took for him. Long story short, he said some hurtful things back there. Delilah will tell you the full story when she feels it's time."
