April's POV
We walk through the woods for about 15 minutes, and it's gotten colder since I was outside with Liam. Liam... I feel guilty for rejecting him. He is so sweet, such a caring person; and I hate that I told him I don't see him more than a friend. I really don't see why I don't have feelings for him, and anyway, Harry has a girlfriend who he really loves so I shouldn't be moping around about him. But I can't. I just can't stop thinking about him. No matter how hard I try, I can't keep my mind off him. It's everything about him that makes me think of him as more than a friend. But I know that will obviously never happen, because he loves Kate, and not me. I need to forget about Harry, and just think of him as a friend and an instructor.
"Ugh, how much farther do we have to walk?" I hear Natela complain.
"Not much, it should be somewhere close around here." Delilah told her, then stopped and started looking around then started walking again. After about 5 more minutes, we all stopped in a cleared spot in the woods. Natela and Delilah both got their weapons out and looked at me.
"This is the spot." says Delilah. "Where's your dagger?"
"Right here," I reply and pull out the knife from my holtser.
"Alright, know do you remember what we told you about how to use it?" Natela asks me.
"Umm..." I think aloud. "Yes, don't use it unless you're up close to your target or you know how to throw it and hit the target. Also, make sure your target is not being blocked or is hidden when you throw the dagger."
"Good, you listened. Now show us how we taught you to us it up close." she said.
"What? How?" I asked them and furrow my eyebrows in confusion.
"On us, how else would you be able to?" Delilah slightly chuckled.
"Wait, I can't use the dagger up close on you, that's too risky! I could hurt you guys!"
Both of them start laughing and Delilah said "We'll be fine. We are professionals, after all.
"O-okay." I look at them and say hesitantly.
"Okay, now imagine me as your enemy, say one of the government's guards. Show me how you'd attack me." Natela stated and took a step away from me. Oh god, I don't quite trust myself with this, but then again, I won't get anywhere without practice, right?
I took a step and kick boxed her in the right shoulder, making her stumble back and fall to the ground and swung my dagger to in front of her heart, as if I was to stab her there, but I stopped a foot away from her.
"That was really good April! I'm impressed." says Delilah while smiling at me.
I giggled and replied "Thank you, that was quite scary for me to do. I was worried something would go wrong."
"Damn, I think you broke my shoulder," whined Natela as she got up. I widened my eyes and run over to her help her up.
"Oh, I 'm so so-" I started to apologize before she cut me off.
"Chill hun. I'm just teasing you. I'm alright." she laughed.
A wave of relief washed over me and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. "God, don't do that to me!"
"You're going to have to learn to toughen up a little bit." Delilah tells me. "It's important that you know you can't help the enemy if they get hurt."
"I know I can't help the enemy, I just really thought I hurt her. We're supposed to help our teammates if they get hurt right?" I question them.
"Correct, but we almost know that you just joined, and most of us when we just joined tended to hesitate when we would try to kill off the guards or soliders of the government." answered Natela.
