chapter four →
Darcy walked in to the empty classroom, of course, Luke had to be late. She was not looking forward to this, and if he was going to show up late again, she would stop tutoring him, not caring about her grade.
A minute after Darcy had sat down, one leg over the other one and her arms crossed, Luke walked in. "Sorry I'm late." He said. Darcy rolled her eyes and made Luke grab his books. He patiently listened to what Darcy had to say, until his thoughts started wandering off to other things.
"Luke!" Darcy yelled clicking her fingers in front of his face. "Oh my god are you even listening." She groaned and stared at him. "I can't do this." She said, staring at him. He raised his eyebrows and looked at the girl.
"You're gonna have to, good girl needs to keep her grade, if I'm failing, you're failing." He smirked. "Are you threatening me right now?" She asked him and he just looked at her blankly. "I'm doing nothing, princess." He said, laying his hand on her knee.
"Oh my god I have a boyfriend are you stupid." She said, swatting his hand away. "We both know you can't handle me." He smirked and leaned in. She pushed his chest and he sat back. "You know what, Luke, fuck you." She spat at him, grabbing her books and bag and running out the classroom.
The door made a loud sound and she ran down the hallway. She grabbed her phone from her pocket and dialed Ashton's number. He picked up after one ring, "Can you come pick me up?" Darcy silently sobbed, "On my way." He said and hung up.
Darcy walked outside and sat in the court yard, waiting until her brother would finally be there. the drive to school was only ten minutes, but most of the time, it would feel like it was way longer.
Luke walked out of the school building, annoyed by Darcy's attitude. He was just joking with her, trying to break her walls down by flirty comments. He didn't think it would hurt her as much as it did, he realized she was probably too serious about Maxwell.
Just when he thought his day couldn't get any worse, he saw her sitting in the court yard. He slowly walked over to her, and when he was only a few feet away he saw Ashton. The asshole he hated most, but her brother.
"Leave her the fuck alone, Hemmings." Ashton spoke, getting out of his car and walking over to Darcy. He took her hand in his and stared at the blonde boy. "I wasn't-" He started saying by Ashton cut him off. "I hate the idea of her tutoring you, but she is well driven and will do anything for a good grade, you better respect her taking the time to tutor you, asshole." Ashton said, spatting at him.
Ashton pulled Darcy's wrist towards the car, she looked back one more time and saw Luke standing there, slightly at a loss of words. She got in to Ashton's car and sighed. "I am stopping with tutoring him." She said.
"Thank god, I thought the day would never come." Ashton said, starting the car. "It's better like that sis, that boy is all drama, you don't want him to ruin you. You're way too friendly and smart for that." He said, grabbing her hand and driving back home.
When they got home, the loud yelling from Calum and Michael was the first thing she heard. "They were over before you called." He said, noticing she was slightly confused. She followed Ashton to the gaming room after dropping her bag in the kitchen.
She sat in between Calum and Michael and groaned, really loud. "Somebody is grumpy." Calum said, smiling while pinching her cheek. "Rough tutor session?" Michael asked her and she nodded. "He is even worse than I thought." She said, looking at them while they were playing Destiny.
"I have homework to do, so bye." She said, getting up and walking upstairs once she grabbed her bag from the kitchen.
When she entered her room, she let herself have five minutes to chill out. She laid down on her bed with her face against the fresh duvet cover. And then, she just groaned. Why does her English teacher want to make her life so much harder.
Luke was probably the most annoying and cocky boy she had ever met in her life. And somehow she had the feeling she had to give this boy a second chance. But she was hurting so much because of it, and she had only tutored him trice, she was not going to suffer the pain he was causing her.
She was scared he would say something, and she would lose control.
She just groaned, got up, and did her homework. Trying to keep her mind off the boy and focus on her homework.
