Cassie
"So," Mikey says as we pull into the parking lot of a large building that looks pretty inviting to me, "let's go get that nose of yours fixed, Cass. You don't mind being called Cass, do you?"
"No, not at all." I reply, though muffled by the towel.
Right away, when we head into the office, we are greeted by none other than Ryan Ross.
"Hey, Ryan, this is Cassie, our new student. Is Patrick free right now?" Mikey asks.
"I believe so, let's go see!" Ryan replies, leading us down the hall. He knocks on a door that says Dr. Patrick Stump, M.D.
The door opens, revealing a smiling Patrick.
"Are you busy?" Ryan asks.
"Nope! Am I about to be?"
"If you don't mind," Mikey says, "I have a new student named Cassie. She's got a broken nose and had a panic attack earlier, she doesn't have prescribed meds for that, and you usually want to get new students checked out anyway."
"Oh, of course!" Patrick says cheerfully. "If you'll follow me, Cassie..."
"This is where we part ways for now. But if you need anything, be sure to ask for me. I always have time for you. Remember that." Mikey says.
I then follow Patrick to a large, very sanitary-looking room. He closes the door behind me when I walk in. This room is a whole hospital in just one room. There's a lot of equipment in here.
"Now, first thing's first, let me fix that nose of yours." he says, pulling on a white coat and a pair of latex gloves. "It's safe to move the towel, Cassie." he says with a smile. He quickly snaps my nose back into place, and the bleeding immediately stops.
"Ow..." I whimper. That hurt.
"Sorry. Alright, let's get you checked out to make sure you're healthy. I'm gonna have you sit in this chair right here so I can check your blood pressure and ask you a few questions." he says, pulling out a clipboard and logging into a computer. I sit down. "What's your last name, Cassie?"
"Anderson." I reply nervously.
He types something into the computer. "Alright, I've got your medical records up. You haven't seen a doctor in quite a while!"
"No, I've got a single mom who works all the time and has two other kids to worry about."
"I see. Well, I can see you missed a lot of your required shots, so we'll have to catch you up."
"Today?"
"Today. We can't have you catching some horrible illness now, can we? That wouldn't be good. I mean, I could help you, but you wouldn't like it. It never feels good to be sick, Cassie. Which reminds me, if you end up having to take a sick day, you'll end up down here so I can check you out. But Pete'll come up first and make sure you're not skipping. But we all know you wouldn't do that, would you, Cass?"
"Well, if this place is as good as people keep saying, I probably won't have the temptation, no."
"Good girl. Now let's get this over with, shall we?" he asks, wrapping the fabric cuff around my upper arm. He squeezes the nozzle, causing the cuff to inflate and squeeze around my arm. Patrick presses his stethoscope to the cuff, then scribbles a couple things on the clipboard.
