{Nico x Sibling!Reader} Not the Boss of Me

Prompt: Nico and Reader get in an argument. (stupid, but small chapter)

"So you're telling me that you're leaving camp for this school year? And that you'll come back for the summer?" Nico disapprovingly spoke.

You nodded uneasily. You had broken the news to Nico about wanting to go to school-especially the recent school you'd been excepted to. You were really excited, and part of you really wanted to get away from camp. There comes a certain point where hanging out with your older brother's friends isn't fun anymore.

Nico held his head in his hands. "Y/N, it's dangerous. You're a child of Hades. I don't think leaving camp is a smart idea."

"Nico," You sighed. "I've been accepted to go to this school. I really want to. I can't stay in camp's borders forever, and I'd like to get a sophisticated job when I do leave."

"You can't go Y/N," He spoke uneasily. "Not without something going wrong."

If there were a sigh that was the ultimate sigh, you had just did it. "I know, I know. But I know how to protect myself, Nico."

In an instant Nico had his sword to your throat, so fast you couldn't even blink. You were frozen in your spot in shock.

"Monsters won't hesitate to kill you." He scolded, putting down his sword. "You aren't going."

You exhaled nervously. "Nico, I really didn't want to say this, but, you aren't in charge of me. If I want to leave for the school year, I can."

"What did you just say?" He looked at you surprised by the words that came out of your mouth.

You avoided eye contact, mumbling. "You aren't in charge of me."

A sudden burst of anger pumped through your veins, and you looked Nico dead in the eye.

"You aren't the boss of me!" You yelled, getting frustrated. "You can't tell me I'm not going to that school, because I am, and you can't stop me!"

"Yeah sure, go right ahead!!" Nico yelled back at you. "You'll wind up dead, just like Bianca!"

You both went silent at her name. You looked at Nico, just about terrified. The room had gotten darker, darkness pulling towards Nico like a magnet. He never brought up Bianca. You never spoke her name.

Nico tried to cover the tears in his eyes, wiping them with his jacket sleeve. "I-I can't, I wouldn't be able to live if you died on my watch Y/N. I failed once already. It's my job to protect you."

You hesitated before approaching your brother, putting a gentle hand on his shoulder. "I'll be alright, Nico."

"Y/N, I can't. I can't live in camp for almost a year knowing you're out there by yourself."

You bit your bottom lip, an idea forming in your head. "You can live with me. We can get an apartment, and you can live with me, to make sure I'm alright."

Nico looked up, blinking confusedly. "What?"

"Well, I'm gonna need someone to look after me, right?" You smiled, and the room seemed to get a little brighter.

"You're serious?"

"Couldn't be anymore."
