Percy and you had gone to the beach. It was one of his favorite things to do with you, especially because he knew where a nice secluded spot was. That meant the two of you were left alone.

What? Don't start thinking all dirty, geez.

Anyway, it wasn't like the two of you did anything dirty there. It wasn't your kind of setting, and Percy was kind enough to understand that. He was currently swimming, enjoying himself, as you sat in the sand.

You held a book in your hand, glancing at Percy every few pages. It was an alright book, but you knew you wouldn't want to read it again.

You saw Percy begin to come out of the water, completely dry as he dusted sand out of his hair. You got up, putting your book down and holding your hand above your eyes to block the sun. You had to admit it, he had a nice body. It was surprising considering the amount of blue cookies he ate-but he still had a gorgeous six pack.

"Are you checking me out?" Percy asked, laughing as he approached you.

You felt your face heat up. "You're my boyfriend, I'm allowed to check you out."

"Mm hm." Percy hummed as he leaned on your shoulder.

You sat back down and Percy followed, laying his head on your lap while you read. Being a professional reader at this point, you held the book in one hand as the other roamed over Percy's hair.

You glanced at him and saw he had his eyes shut, smiling small as you ran your fingers through his jet black hair. You put your book down, letting your one hand rest as you also shut your eyes.

"Was your hair always this soft?" You asked, continuing to play with it.

"I dunno, were you always this talkative?" Percy retorted.

You playfully hit his head. "Shush and let me think out loud."

His weight lifting off of your legs, you peaked your eye open to see him smiling. You rubbed your eyes, trying to think of what on earth he could possibly be smiling at. Your hair was a frizzy mess from the humidity, and you felt like your skin was starting to burn up extremely from sitting in the sun for so long. Your eyebrows furrowed at the sight at his long grin, and you tilted your head slightly to block out the sun.

"What're you smiling at?" You asked.

Percy smiled warmly. "There's a spider in your hair."

"WHAT?!" You yelped as your hands shot up towards your head, not even realizing that you had knocked Percy off of your lap when you got up in panic.

Percy laughed hysterically at you, holding his chest. "I'm kidding babe," he let out a breath. "I'm just kidding."

"I HATE YOU!!" You yelled at him, crossing your arms.

You still wiped your head with your hands as if something was there, shaking your head over the sand. Percy's eyes were tear-filled from laughing as hard as he was when you looked up.

"You're an ass." You confirmed, rolling your eyes.

Percy smiled. "You know you love me."

You sighed and went back to your seat, bringing your knees up to your chest purposely so he wouldn't be able to lay on top of them. It was usual for the two of you to tease around like this-it kept the two of you distracted from real problems and joyful of each other.

At the moment, yes, you were pretending to be pissed at your handsome and beautiful boyfriend in front of you-but in reality, you couldn't be happier.
