Warnings: itty bitty cursing (it's thalia what do you expect)

Word Count: 895ish

You were a photographer, and what better place to take photos than central park? You'd been there practically all day, getting pictures of whatever you could. The sun was just beginning to set-the perfect time for sky pictures, and nature shots.

The ginormous park was oddly quiet, and there was definitely an unusual, small amount of people there. You didn't notice, too busy trying to get as many photos as you could. Hearing a twig snap, you turned your head towards it, excited. That snap could be an animal, and what a legend you would be at your local college photography class if you got a picture of an animal with a beautiful sun-setting sky.

Taking quick yet quiet steps, you walked towards the noise, camera in hand. You could vaguely make out the silhouette of what seemed to be a deer. You focused your camera as much as you could, clicking it for a picture. To your horror, the flash went off.

When did I even turn that on?! You scolded yourself, quickly turning the flash off before you made the same mistake again.

You sighed, seeing the deer run off. Figuring that you might as well look at the picture, you gasped when you saw not only a bright golden-horned deer, but about 6 teenagers scattered around, all holding weapons.

Eyes widening, you did the only thing you could think to be logical: You ran. All you had to do was make it to 5th Avenue. Then you could hail a taxi, or get lost in the crowds of the city.

You didn't make it to 5th Avenue.

Someone leaped on top of you out of no-where, obviously attempting to knock you out. You'd never go down that easy, especially with your camera. Both of you fell onto the grass, tumbling down a slight hill.

"Give me the camera, dumbass!" You could hear a demanding voice command you.

"NEVER!!" You yelled back.

There was only seconds before you were pinned to the ground. Moonlight shining bright on the girl holding you down, you gazed at her. She had a pixie cut, black hair with blue streaks in the front. She was pale, but you could tell she'd been in the sun by the many dark freckles across her nose and spread out on her cheeks.

"Damn." The word slipped out of your mouth before you could stop it.

The girl relaxed her grip, looking at you with confusion. "Who are you?"

"Y/N Y/LN. I'm just a small photographer from NYC, I swear I'll delete the picture-"

She put her hand on your mouth. "My name's Thalia, thanks for asking. Calm down. If you cooperate I can get you out of here alive."

"What?" You whispered, pushing her hand of your mouth. "Not to sound upset or anything, but why are you letting me go?"

"Shut the fuck up and get up before more hunters of artemis come." Thalia shushed you, getting up and leading the two of you behind some trees.

You could hear rustling from the outside, and hushed voices. It felt like you were behind the scenes of some cool movie, except your life wasn't a movie, and the voices you were hearing were the voices of people who wanted to hold you hostage. Thalia held a finger up to her lips, waiting until the voices were gone for good.

"Who are you guys? Why-"

"No time to explain, short stack." Thalia snapped, grabbing your hand and leading you to hide again, this time behind a group of shrubs.

You desperately wanted to argue and tell her you were much more than a "short stack", but the threatening look on her face told you that if you uttered another word she'd sacrifice you herself.

You and Thalia spent the next 15 minutes or so hiding behind different types of plants, running, then hiding behind another plant again. She finally led you to a gateway out of the park, about to hail a taxi.

"You might want to dye your hair or something, maybe change your perfume, buy a different camera." Thalia advised, and you arched an eyebrow.

"...Why, may I ask?"

Thalia cleared her throat. "Long story short we're huntresses of the Greek God Artemis and are sworn to secrecy from mortals...I can only stall them for so long before they get on your trail, so it'd be helpful if you could do your best to confuse them as well."

"Why are you doing this for me?" You looked at her with wide eyes.

Her electric blue eyes darted for the ground, her feet shuffling. "What can I say? You're hot."

Biting your lip, you motioned for her to come closer to you, so you could whisper something in her ear. She came over, and you softly whispered, waiting for her response. Her eyes widened and she looked at you for permission, leading to your nod.

You shut your eyes as you leaned in for the kiss, feeling the soft touch of her lips against yours. She smelt like lilac, leaving you to lean into the kiss even more. Your nose brushed against hers, you almost shivered at how cold she was, like a strong wind during a storm. Running your hands through her hair, you let go of the kiss, seeing the delightful look on Thalia's face.

"Will I see you again?" You asked, hoping for one answer only.

Thalia nodded. "There's no doubt about it."
