The professor and Terson helped Red, and brought themselves back to the academy through going to straight to the portal. With Red, in contact to both of them physically, they were able to go through the shielded magical passage. Back there in Abalour Academy’s secret library, they laid Red on a long table near three bookshelves on the far corner. After everything that has happened in the Blackheaven Manor, the professor was disquieted and Terson was mind-blown. Both of them were so anxious that Terson can’t help himself but ask Professor Ricardo, he said.
“Sir, I don’t understand what’s happening.” Terson said. “What is all of this?!”
“I think this is part of my intuitions lately. The thing I told Red about events that aren’t supposed to happen when we get through the portal might be true.” responded the professor.
“What specific intuitions?” Terson inquired.
“The first moment I saw the portal it immediately occurred to me, that what’s behind that portal would only bring us no good.” Professor Ricardo said.
Terson’s forehead then wrinkled and he said. “Why haven’t you said anything Professor Ricardo? You couldn’t have got us all into this!”
The moment Terson finished his word; he sighed; closed his eyes and heard Red moaning while waking up. It caught his attention and so he looked, and saw Red’s eyes open, she looked curious about the world. Terson immediately neared her. He felt very overwhelmed. Red then asked what happened lately.
“W-what happened?”
Terson was very happy that he hugged her. With his warmth, Red was comforted and hugged him back. As they finished snuggling each other, Terson then said.
“About your question on what happened, tell me what you remember first.”
“All I can recall is… I saw a bright flash of light from the skies and something bombed us… I don’t know what happened next.” Red said.
“With what you said, I can therefore conclude that you were not yourself when you cased us in a magical shield.” Professor Ricardo concluded.
“I am not myself?” Red questioned.
“Yes. While we did training on your magical abilities, I sensed that your powers have their own method of protecting. Have you remembered when I tried to strike you with a spell, and it was countered by a fire spell by your hand when you tried defending yourself?” The professor then said while pointing at her ring.
“Have you remembered when Lorelei tried to steal that protection ring from you and because of that intense anger, you burnt her hand? That wasn’t you at all; it was your magic that worked for you. It was your power that avenged you against your enemies. It was your power that intends to safeguard you and the loved ones around you.”
“I heard you said lately that I guarded you with a magical shield and I wasn’t myself.” Red said and the professor nodded. “So do you mean that those were my powers that did everything? By the moment the manor was bombarded by magic, my eyes suddenly fell black and I knew that I was unconscious.”
Red then fixed herself and sat properly and continued talking. “It wasn’t me that protected you at all, those were my powers. How nice of it…”
“Yes Red and I guess that whatever you do to control your powers, from this very moment and on, it will always have a mind of its own to do its abilities for its owner.” Terson said.
“But Red, be careful not to let wrath course through your mind. It might drive your magic to offense, that anything in your path including us, will be hurt or… killed.” Professor Ricardo said.
