As time continued to pass and no more memories of my previous life came to me, I grew a bit bored with having nothing to do day to day. I began craving responsibilities, so I decided to take up with helping the servants. Of course, I did not mention this to anyone at first (Sebastian), since they would tell me a lady doing servant's work is disgraceful. Unfortunately, I was discovered by the butler rather quickly, so I explained that I was bored. Without another word, he fetched me a spare maid's dress along with an apron and reminded me that I was not obligated to do anything, but if stimulation would make me feel better, he would allow me to work.

I slipped on the light blue dress at the end of my bed and tied on the apron, then went on to comb my hair and pull it back into the bun with the single hanging strand I had worn it in as of lately. Once that was done, I went on my way to the servant's quarters for breakfast.

"...so then he goes to open the shed door and BOOM!" Bard threw his hands out in effect with the explosion. We all cracked up. "You should have seen that bloke running out of there! He was trying to get away so much that his legs were going but he wasn't running anywhere!"

"Didn't you get in trouble for pulling a prank on your cousin like that?" Finny asked in the midst of his laughter.

"Ya," Bard answered. "He went near deaf in one ear and Dad punished me and my brothers, but it was well worth it! Oh boy, you just should have seen his face!" Once he finished laughing, he concluded the story. "And that's how I decided I wanted to be an explosions expert in the army."

Stories like this were often told every morning. I now knew about the servants' pasts, and how they came to the manor, but we decided to never dwell on the subject. It was so much more fun telling stories that put us in a good mood and gave us the energy to get through the day.

"Well then," I wiped tears from my eyes, standing. "I suppose we should get to work now before the big bad butler comes in and scolds us," I said jokingly, knowing he would be able to hear me regardless of his location in the manor.

"Ya," Mey-Rin giggled a little. "I gotta hurry up if I'm going to have time to walk Pluto and put the dishes away..."

"Oh, I'll handle Pluto," I told her with a smile.

"Thanks, that would be great!"

"No problem!" I exited the room and made my way to back door of the manor, where Pluto was waiting eagerly outside. I took a heavy breath, seeing the large white dog. I had inevitably learned his secret not too long ago, too. I then understood why he acted the way he did while he was a man, and eventually grew used to seeing his shape-shifting ability.

"Hey there, boy," I greeted him, holding the leash out. "I'm just going to put this on you so we can go—" He walked away before I could attach it. "Wait, Pluto!" He stopped momentarily. "Come on, you gotta have this..." I petted him. "There now, easy... just a second more, and..."
