As soon as I secured it, he leapt up and began walking quickly. I had to run to keep up with him and make sure I wasn't drug across the ground.
"Pluto, wait!" I called out. He paused momentarily, only to catch a bird in the corner of his eye, in which he bolted away. I grabbed the rope without thinking, and was pulled away with him. I screamed in fright, struggling to hold on, but wondering if it would be safer to let go at the same time. I thought about climbing up the rope, but I wasn't strong enough.
Suddenly, I felt something grab me and I ended up safely back on the ground.
"Pluto, heel!" a voice rang out. The hound halted in his tracks and laid down directly in front of me. I slowly looked behind me to find Sebastian standing there, glaring at him. "The key, my lady, is to be stern with him."
"I'm nice, I can't be strict with things!" I cried, my heart thudding from being drug around by the wild beast.
"It's not as if you're going to hurt his feelings!" Sebastian told me.
I hesitated for only a moment, giving Pluto the opportunity to rebel again. Sebastian grabbed the rope to stop him as I tried to muster up my strength to shout.
"Sit, Pluto!" I attempted to deepen my voice and be assertive. The hound did as I said. "Now lay down!"
He fell over, his form changing from that of a dog to human. He came to me, head low in shame.
