I began running as soon as I heard a crash coming from the chamber ahead. My heart beat wildly as I entered, only to find a demon and an angel in the midst of a mad battle. The room was a complete disaster—shelves turned over, furniture in pieces, even some objects lit aflame from fallen torches.

"Stop this, Serafin!" I screamed.

"My dear," he turned his head to me with a sly smile. Sebastian seized the chance to hurl a shard of metal at his head, which he caught in his hand and threw it back.

"Stay back!" Sebastian told me, barely dodging a metal rod that had been thrown at him like a dart.

"It's no use, demon," Serafin laughed, leaping up into the air. "I have my wings, and what do you have left?"

"You'll see," Sebastian growled, his eyes glowing a vibrant red.

"Yes, go on and show her what you really are," he said, looking to me.

Suddenly, Sebastian's eyes faded and his mouth hung open in shock. "I... I can't..."

"You can't even use your true form to fight?" Serafin laughed. "Pathetic!"

A sudden, unexpected blow knocked Sebastian off his feet. I gasped, trying to step towards him, but a wall of flames suddenly leapt up, separating me from him. "I'm sorry, Estella," Sebastian told me. "But this is for your own good."

They continued their war. I was unable to do anything but pray as I watched. Having regained my memories, I knew well of Sebastian's weakened defense, and could see he wasn't doing well at all. Serafin had bruised and cut him, slammed his body up against walls against floors as if he were a doll.

It pained me to see him that way, knowing how great his abilities were when I had first met him. But now, he was wearing out his stamina and strength. And for the first time, I was beginning to lose all hope as reality sunk in. Sebastian was going to die.

As soon as I had allowed the thought into my mind, Serafin stabbed a piece of metal through his chest.
