Quick Authors Note, I know that so far this as been a really slow story but I wanted good character development. So finally in the next few chapters things will finally start happening, anyway enjoy the story!:)

I have a good reason for only excelling at English and science. You see, I like things without concrete rules pushing you into a tiny box until you suffocate. English and science do have guidelines but there is never a definite answer. So as I sit here in English class, so deep in thought I almost don't hear the principals voice over the intercom, thankful interrupting the lecture we were getting on why commas were so important.

"All staff and students immediately report to the gymnasium for a special assembly"

His words were firm and calm as if it was a normal announcement but something in my mind told me this was going to be anything but normal.
My teacher for this class was a naturally skittish person, fresh out of college which means he didn't have much experience with the classroom yet. I never thought teaching was for him since he was always nervous but seemed especially nervous now.

"O-okay class please exit to h-hallway in an o-orderly fashion"

Obviously no one took him seriously and burst through the door. There had been no warning, no scheduled time so naturally there was rumors spreading about. Girls whispering to their friends eyeing the frequent troublemakers, hushed voices blending together as everyone walked through the hallways. I honestly never really cared about assemblies, but something was off. It seemed this was more than the boys going in the girls room.

"Sky, did you hear about what happened?!"

That was be Seth, the schools official psychopath. Well, sorta.
He had this personality where everything was important and exciting. An aurora of creepy happiness that everyone was weirded out by. In the decade that I've know him I've never seen him down. With his blond hair and blue eyes he could very well have been a popular guy but with his personality that just wasn't happening. Also he had this lazy eye that made students back off even more than they already did. Even with all that his quirkiness can be very refreshing and keeps my mood up. He helped me through so much and he didn't even notice.

"No, is it something bad?"

"Well I don't really know but there's rumors that the football team snuck into the girls locker room again!"

And did I mention that he's also a sucker for gossip? He may be a misfit but this was this was putting his excitement on overdrive. Classic Seth.
We got to the gym together and took our seats in the front row.

"Seth do you feel that something's off about this assembly?"

"No, why?" He answered flashing me a smile, no concern in the world.

"Never mind"

The principal was burly man in his late fifties his hair graying at the edges from the stress of running a high school and honestly I couldn't blame him, it was a hard job.
He walked center stage and stood there until eventually everyone quieted.

"I know you may be wondering what this is all about, but there's been a threat for everyone's safety so we will be sending you home for the rest of the school day, please go straight home, all of your parents and guardians have been contacted, please wait to be dismissed"

The school broke into a frenzy,
some started to cry, some just glad that they got out of school for the rest of the day. Voices echoed through the the gym all one voice.
Threat to our safety? What that all about?

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, please comment what you think!:)
