I stared at the phone in my hand. I had to talk to Jenna. But what would I say?
Hey, my sister can predict the future and said you have weird powers too, soooo can you tell me about the totally normal balls of light floating around? Thanks!
She already thinks I'm weird because I care about school. She'd disown me as a cousin if I told her about this. But I just had too.
Calling JennaBoo❤️...
"Hello, Jenna are you there?"
Calm your voice down you're talking to Jenna not a ghost.
"Sky, is that you?" I could barely make out what she was saying, it was too choked by sobs. For a second I was to shocked to say anything. Her bubbly demeanor never allowed her to get very sad so hearing her emotion surprised me.
"Jenna, why are crying, what's wrong!?"
"Oh don't act like you don't know, everyone knows I was the one who started it," combined with her sadness there was something else I couldn't pinpoint, fear, guilt, or anger or everything in between?
"Started what Jenna, you're confusing me" I really didn't know what she was choking out. She definitely wasn't one to follow rules but this was obviously deeper, more important.
"Oh, so you really didn't know..."
"Know what?
"That fire... It was all me... But it was an accident I promise! It just came out of nowhere, coming right from my fingertips! Gosh, I must sound so stupid. You probably think I'm crazy now right?"
"..."
There wasn't much to say or maybe I just didn't know what to say. My sister was right. Jenna did have powers. It was all real. There was a few seconds of shocked silence before I spoke again. This time set on what I was going to say and do."Where are you now?"
"Under the bridge by the complex, I ran out after the fire started."
"I'm coming for you."
"What!? You can't do that, what about Aisling and your mom and dad?"
I hadn't thought about that.
"Umm... I'll take her with me and my mom and dad probably won't even notice I'm gone"
"But-"
Her voice suddenly cut off. The screen was black on the phone.
"Dang it I forgot to charge it" I muttered under my breath. Guess it was just Aisling and me now.
When I got back to the bedroom Aisling was sitting up in the bed wide awake. She didn't exactly look the best but she looked better. Hopefully strong enough to take the trip.
"Feel better?"
"Sorta?"
"Good cause we're going on a trip."
"To find Jenna and explain everything?" The prediction didn't even faze me.
"Yep"
I loaded everything I needed into the old Ford for the ride and back. A few water bottles and a bag of trail mix in case Aisling got hungry. The only thing I needed more of was gas. I never filled the tank more then halfway because of our financial situation and would need a full tank for the drive so I took some of money I was saving for college. So with my sister in back and 200 dollars in my pocket I took off in the rusted old Ford to New York City.
I didn't know what I would find there or what would happen, but everything would be okay. It always was.I know this was short but the next one will be longer! Also, tell me what you'd like to see in upcoming chapters or what should be edited. Thanks for reading I appreciate you all!:)
