•EPILOGUE•

Carly's funeral was beautiful. There was no doubt about that. For everyone looking at the open coffin was a big kick in the gut. After that it all synced in. Carly was dead.

Carly was dead.

Carly was dead.

Carly was dead

Harry had to rerun the words through his head every night before falling asleep again. But as he sat with the boys at Carly's funeral it all became so more real.

Harry couldn't remember how he'd managed to get away from his bickering mother who cooed over Harry telling him it was all going to be okay and he'd find some one else. But did he really want anyone else...?

"I don't get why they have cake at funerals..." Niall muttered.

"To keep people around?" Louis suggested as he tossed a rock into the water.

"It's sure keeping me around." Liam commented. "Niall did I ever tell you how good your wife's cakes are?"

"Yeah. You have."

Harry blocked out the sound of the small talk concentrating on the water. He hated this. Knowing Carly wasn't about to come up behind him and tackle him laughing about something stupid. He never knew how badly he needed her. And all he could remember was the arguing over whether to stay married or get a divorce.

"Harry." Zayn snapped dully. "You can't just ignore everyone forever."

"Yeah I can." Harry retorted bitterly.

"We underst-"

"Your wife's alive Zayn I don't think you do. You guys all happy in your perfect life's. Niall's wife had two kids the other day, Louis' finally realised he's always loved El, Liam's getting married next month and your wife had a baby a month a go and the baby shouldn't be alive anyway."

"I get it." Louis replied with a shrug.

"How would you know?"

"'Cause when I was in high school I fell in love with a girl. She's dead now so I think I get what your feeling."

Harry nodded, feeling somewhat sympathetic to Louis.

"Does it ever go away?" Harry mused to no one in particular.

"Not really," Louis replied. "You just smile in the end instead of wanting to rip everyone's heads off."

"I'm gonna go back up there." Niall said motioning backwards. "Chantelle's gonna kill me."

"I'll come to," Zayn muttered.

"Tell Destiny I'll be there in a minute." Liam replied as Zayn and Niall started walking away from the lake of water.

"Will do."

Harry, Liam and Louis stood in silence, all three of them staring at the sunset.

"It's all gonna be different now..." Liam mused tossing a rock.

"Yeah, lets just hope for the best." Louis replied, he throw a final rock. And maybe Louis right, for some of it. But as Liam said. Its all gonna be different....
