I heard the bombs throughout the night, people screaming and tons of them running in the opposite directions of the highway. Sophia and Carl were hugging onto their mothers with all of their might, and i just stared wide eyed standing on the roof of my car. The military was dropping bombs in Atlanta, the place all of us were hoping to seek refuge in from this virus. Any hope I had that someone could figure out a solution to this madness was wiped out the second I heard the first boom. We had nowhere to go, nobody could help us now but ourselves.

From what Shane told me, the army was shooting people at the hospital, the infected and the healthy. This virus must be a lot worse than they let on, if they were just killing anyone they came across. We needed to get out of here and quick, it was only a matter of time before they started bombing the highway and everyone who was on it. I jumped down from my car quickly and dodged several people who were running past me. "We need to get out of here fast" I told Lori who was holding onto her son with the grip of life. "She's right, we gotta find somewhere to hunker down for the night" Shane said blocking the three of us from being trampled by terrified passer byers.

I could see dozens of people jumping into cars farther back and turning around, clearing a pathway for people to exit. A few people started screaming behind me at the wood line and I turned around to find a few of those monsters stumbling through the trees. The people who yelled started running away, a few of them children who frantically searched for their parents. I pulled out my revolver and quickly took down the three that were walking around looking for food. "Nice aim you got there" Shane said, checking his own gun's magazine for ammo.

" I picked up a few things" I said shrugging. I didn't need to tell him I have known to shoot a gun since I was a kid, Merle taught Daryl and I. He felt it was something we should know giving our shitty home lives. But all three of us had excellent aim, and could pretty much shoot whatever you handed us, I only learned to shoot my bow later in life because Daryl's crossbow was too heavy and we could never find one for me.  "I guess now it will come in handy" I said replacing the empty slots in my revolver from the shots I fired moments before.

"Sure will darling" Shane said with a smirk, cocking his pistol and taking off the safety. The crowd was still here on the highway, but you could tell quite a few of the cars had gone. We all would easily be able to turn around and head someplace new.....

So we found ourselves now in this pull off area off of the highway, seemed mainly safe since there were no geeks around. Carol, Sophia and her husband Ed had followed Lori, Carl and myself. I had made a sign and stuck it right before the highway to the city, warning people and letting them know where we were staying. We only were here for about twenty minutes before the cars started showing up, and quite a few of them actually... but my heart sank a little with every car that showed up seeing as none of them were the Dixon's.

Dale was an older gentlemen with salt and pepper hair, carrying a hunting rifle. Dale drove an RV which would work for protection from the outside if need be. He was traveling with two sisters; Amy and Andrea. They were both really nice, and Amy seemed very exuberant given the current situation. Shortly after his RV showed up, a white church van pulled up with several people inside.

Glenn was a few years younger than I was, an Asian boy with a dark blue baseball cap. T-Dog was a dark skinned man who drove the van along with Jackie who I figured had some form of relation to him. There was safety in numbers, and i was happy to have found other people I could hopefully survive with. But as the night went on I was beginning to lose hope for Daryl and Merle, and even though they were two of the toughest sons of bitches alive, I cried myself to sleep thinking they might be dead.

"Savannah, wake up" I heard someone say, shaking my shoulder slightly. I groaned an opened my eyes to see Glenn sitting beside me with a crooked smile. Glenn and I were sharing a tent, seeing as Dale was smart and packed a bunch of them, he gave the extras to a few of us. "Morning Glenn" I mumbled and wiped the sleep from my eyes. I tied my long hair back into a messy bun before following Glenn out of our small orange tent.
