Emil Steilsson had an obtained an unhealthy obsession with Pokemon Go ever since it came out. He and his friends made a habit of texting each other whenever a rare Pokemon had been sighted, a gym had been taken, or anything of the sort. He was a proud Team Mystic player, and nearly level 19.
So naturally, when one of his friends text him at two in the morning having seen a Snorlax, Emil was out his window and away, making sure not to alert anyone else in his household. He began wandering down the street into the town's park, holding his phone tightly in his hand. Of course, it being 2 am, nobody was out. The park was dead silent, besides the sounds of leaves crunching under Emil's feet. His phone screen and the moonlight were the only lights he had, since even the streetlights had gone out.
Emil wandered around, right in the area his friend had told him he should be. Just then, he heard a slight yelp as a bike rider attempted to swerve out of the way of Emil, unfortunately failing and crashing into the white-blonde teenage boy.
"Oww... What the-"
"Oh my god man, I'm sorry!" The biker exclaimed, and helped Emil to his feet. The biker didn't look any older than Emil, being a bit shorter than him, with longer dark brown hair and Asian toned skin. He wore a simple graphic t-shirt and jeans, even though the fall air had quite a nip to it. Upon closer inspection, Emil realized the shirt had a Pokemon design on it, one of Team Instinct."Are you okay? I wasn't, like, watching where I was going. Really sorry."
"It's okay. I wasn't really watching where I was going either." Emil told him. He seemed nice enough. In fact, he was kind of cute."Emil Steilsson. Nice to meet you." The Asian boy took Emil's hand and shook it. "Li Xiao Chun. But, like, my English name's Leon." He smiled and his olive green eyes lit up. "You're looking for Pokemon too?"
"Uh, yeah actually. My friend told me there was a Snorlax here, but I can't seem to find it."
"Oh. That friend doesn't happen to be named Gilbert Beilschmidt, do they?"
"Actually, yes." Emil said, putting two and two together and realizing what just happened. The damn German set him up.
"God damn it. Of course he knew he'd get me with the Snorlax trap." Emil sighed. "He told you the same thing?"
"Yeah. He told me I had to be there like, as soon as possible. I think he's playing matchmaker." Leon chuckled.
"I hope he enjoys it for now, because he's gonna get it once I find him." Emil grumbled. Leon laughed.
"He's not that bad. Besides. I think he led me to an even bigger catch than a Snorlax." He winked at Emil as he got back on his bike.
The Icelandic boy frowned. "I don't even know you."
"You like, know me now. Maybe we'll meet again."
"Maybe." Was all Emil could say as he watched Leon bike away and disappear into the nighttime streets. He knew he'd see him again.
