Here since I was a bad person last one shot have a short fluffy USUK one to make up for it

I laid on the couch at my friend Alfred's house beside him as we browsed the Internet on his laptop. We were both second years at our university, and we'd decided it would be easiest to share an apartment close to campus to save on housing fees. Unfortunately for us, nothing was working out.

The apartments were either too small, too expensive, or the area didn't allow shares. Alfred sighed and ran his fingers through his wheat blonde hair.
"This is stressful. Next term is in less than two months, and we need to find a place soon. I'm not staying with some strangers and being forced to socialize again." I groaned. Alfred laughed. "Yes, I know how much you hate socializing. That's why we have to find a place, fast."

I looked around. We were currently in Alfred's mother's house, which was a nice little place in a smaller city called Reading. It was a nearly four hour car trip from our university in California however, making it impossible for us to stay here for very long once school started again.

"You want something to eat, Artie?" Alfred asked me. I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Whatever. As long as it's not some cold fast food from last night."
"Got it. Two re-heated servings coming up!" He jumped off the couch as I yelled after him.
"You git, that's not what I meant!" He laughed, playfully impersonating my British accent. I glared at him. He met my stare, and we made eye contact for a full minute before he threw a slice of bread at my head. "Bloody hell-" I said as I grabbed the bread off the ground and chucked it back at him.

After we'd gotten a snack, we sat back down on the couch, Alfred pulling his laptop back into his lap. We sat browsing for maybe two more minutes before we found a nice place, however, once again, they didn't allow shares.

However, they did allow couples.

"Hell no." I said. "We're just friends, I'm not gay-" Alfred leaned back a little, nudging my arm which was supporting my entire upper body as I leaned on it, causing my face to fall into his lap. I screamed from the sudden face-to-best-friend's-crotch-contact, and flung myself backwards off the couch. Alfred laughed as I felt my face redden. "That wasn't exactly my plan, but it worked." He said. "Thank god your mum's not home, this would be a little bit awkward to explain." Alfred grabbed my hand and stared directly into my eyes, making me feel even more awkward than I already did.
We both turned our attention back to the computer screen, and I took a better look at the apartment. It was beautiful, located only five minutes from our campus, and was a pretty decent price. The only difficulty was that it didn't allow sharing, but with the couples option it did work. I sighed. "Fine. Fine. It's the most reasonable option. I'll be your gay boyfriend if you promise not to be a shitty roommate."
"Deal." Alfred said, beaming. He gently pecked me on the cheek.

I found out nearly a year later that the reason we couldn't find an area that allowed sharing is because Alfred didn't check that box off when he was on the website.
He had been purposely trying to find a place that allowed couples all along.
